Yay Em for the guest post! So true about the benefits of eating at home *and* how eating out is more special when it's a less common occurrence :-)

Loved your post, Em! I think that is so true - eating at home is so good for us, on so many levels! And I think with more and more people having food allergies, it's just another reason to cook at home.

That pizza looks amazing, by the way!

I definitely agree with you about eating at home! My hubby and I live in Europe and with the exchange rate right now, it saves us a lot of money eating at home!! I love cooking/baking, and so does my hubby! We like to connect at the end of the day like you guys do too! Plus, we KNOW what goes into our food including fat and salts! Then, I don't feel guilty when I eat a cookie that I have made because I know exactly what went into it!

Susan,

For baked fries, simply slice up your potatoes in fry shapes, preheat your oven to 450 degrees, spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray, put your potatoes on the pan and season them, and let them bake for 15 minutes, turn them, and then bake appx. 15 more minutes or until done.

Hope this helps! :)

I would love to see the recipe for baked fries as I am always looking for ways to enjoy the tasty potato without blowing up. French fries are one of my downfalls.

Awesome post. I actually prefer eating at home because I know what exactly I'm eating. And yes, when we do eat out it's much more special. :)

Great guest post! I couldn't agree more that home cooking is an incredibly relaxing activity. This may sound weird, but I love preparing my own meals and connecting with the food I prepare. Knowing everything that goes into to it just gives me a certain assurance and joy.

It's so easy to fall into the take-out/eat-out trap, but less is more when you reserve dining out for special occasions. I'd rather save my money for an unforgettable meal at my favorite restaurant than waste it on some forgettable fast-food/take-out joints.
