Errands to the Max

Hellooooo, friends! I hope you’re enjoying your Saturday so far!

Mal, Murphy, and I have been on-the-go all day long. We had a To-Do List a mile long, so we got crackin’ bright and early. Murphy and I were up before the sun!

Breakfast 1

Around 7:00 AM, my stomach knew that it was time for breakfast. I had some pineapple Chobani mixed with pumpkin granola.

IMG_8773.JPG

I enjoyed breakfast while catching up with emails and my Google Reader, which was at 1,059! Even after 30 minutes of blog-reading, I’m still so behind! :-?

IMG_8784.JPG

Mal woke up a few hours later and offered to make breakfast. I wasn’t starving, but I could eat. ;-)

Breakfast 2

Mal threw some Eggland’s Best eggs on the stove and toasted some bread.

IMG_8808.JPG

Ten minutes later, we sat down to a lovely Saturday morning breakfast. The second one of the day for me!

IMG_8816.JPG

Eggland’s Best makes some good eggs! I had no idea!

IMG_8817.JPG

It’s a good thing that I ate 2 breakfasts this morning because a good 7 hours past before I ate another meal. I’m still sort of surprised I went that long without eating. It almost never happens!

After breakfast, we drove about an hour to our hometown, where we had some work done on my car and made a special delivery to my mom. Then, we headed to the pet supply store to buy Murphy some food and other goodies.

IMG_8828.JPG

One of the the employees at the store fell in love with Murph and gave him a bunch of treats. Murphy showed-off his “sit,” “down,” and “stay” skills. He’s so smart! :-D

IMG_8832.JPG

After spending some time at the pet store, we headed to Target to purchase all sorts of stuff for our apartment, including cleaning supplies and a new mirror for our dining room.

As expect, Target was a madhouse on Saturday afternoon!

IMG_8836.JPG

While at Target, I found the BEST Halloween costume for Murphy! Wouldn’t he be so adorable as a lobster??? I almost bought it for him, but then I remembered my new budget. But, if Grandma Dona or Grandma Marion want to buy it for Murphy, I’m sure he’d love it! ;-)

IMG_8837.JPG

After Target, we stopped at CVS to print some photos of Murphy to frame in our apartment.

And, then, we went grocery shopping. The combination of not eating lunch and food shopping made both Mal and me incredibly hungry, so we added a couple of snacks to our shopping cart. I’m sure you can guess who picked which bar.

IMG_8833.JPG

Workout

After running all of our errands, Mal and I threw on our workout clothes and headed to the gym before it closed for the day. I did 60 minutes on the elliptical, followed by 15 minutes of abs.

For my elliptical workout, I used an interval mix from MotionTraxx called “Drop a Jeans Size Workout ‘09 – Interval #3.” It was a 30-minute cardio machine workout that was perfect for an elliptical. (I just started the mix from the beginning to extend my workout.) The intervals and corresponding music pushed me to work hard. It was great!

Dinner

For dinner tonight, I reheated some leftover pizza that Mal bought last night. The pizza had a ton of toppings on it– pepperoni, sausage, green pepper, mushrooms, and onions. Delish! And filing!

IMG_8838.JPG

I paired my piece of pizza with a salad of romaine, cucumber, roasted red peppers, and balsamic vinegar.

IMG_8840.JPG

And the best part of dinner was a Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale.

I already see another in my future! ;-)

IMG_8847.JPG

IMG_8852.JPG

For dessert, I’ll probably eat a million of these:

IMG_8857.JPG

I have a serious candy corn problem.

IMG_8859.JPG

Once I start, I can’t stop with these babies! Thank goodness Halloween is only once a year!

IMG_8862.JPG

We’re having friends over for an afternoon of football, chili, and beer tomorrow, so Mal and I are laying low tonight.

Enjoy the evening, bloggies!

I do Kelly’s candy corn & peanuts thing, but I also add chocolate chips. So now it’s sort of like a Snickers. It’s my favorite!

I just bought some Jack’s Ale this afternoon! I will enjoy mine waiting for a cake to come out of the oven.

    Have a great night!

That is so funny–my friends just purchased the lobster costume from Target for their toy Australian Shepherd, Drew. It’s adorable!

And I’m all about the candy corn right now. Have you ever mixed them with lightly salted peanuts? It may sound odd, but it’s pure salty/sweet bliss. I have a bowl of this heavenly combo on my coffee table right now. Very very dangerous…

Ha, just noticed Kelly (comment 1) had the same idea. I agree with her–it’s a lot like PayDay.

That’s what my Target normally looks like. I try to go early in the morning to avoid that.

How cute of Murphy to show off :-)

Enjoy the rest of your evening settling down from a long day.

Enjoy the candy corn! I may have to pick some of the pumpkins up before the season is over… ;)

We got a pug/jack russell terrier mix today. Eekk! The training terror has started! Is Murphy going to puppy classes at all?

I have a candy corn addiction issue as well. I love to mix candy corn and peanut together. It tastes exactly like a salted nut roll!

KIND bars are the best. I first discovered them in Australia and have been in love ever since. Try not to eat too many bars but when I need one, KIND are my choice. (I don’t work for them haha)
