Another Giveaway!

October 29, 2009

I’m so tired this morning. Blah. :-? My adorable dog wanted to be walked promptly at 6 AM despite me getting only 5 hours of sleep. But, as soon as I saw his cute pug face, I really didn’t mind at all. It’s funny how dogs can instantly put you in a good mood! :-D

After taking MP (Murphy Piranha - he’s teething) for a walk, I started my morning with breakfast: cinnamon raisin toast with peanut butter.

And some MixMyGranola Trail Mix on the side.

Do my photos look fuzzy to you? I think it might be time for a new point-and-shoot camera! Has anyone purchased a Canon lately? Any good deals out there? I swear, as soon as I quit my job all of these unexpected expenses pop up!

I tried a new kind of agave nectar in my iced coffee this morning. The folks at Xagave sent me their product to sample.

Xagave is a blend of agave nectar derived from organic Agave Salmiana (White Agave) and Agave Tequilana (Blue Agave). It tasted like regular ol’ agave nectar to me! Perfect in iced coffee!

My attempts to cook with tofu have always met with failure… :( I really like tofu in my miso soup though, does that count?

Honestly, I’ve only tried tofu once and it wasn’t bad, but I just don’t really know how to use it. I would love to take a shot at it again and would really like to try the noodles. I’ve been looking for them at my local grocery!

This is my all-time favorite tofu recipe. It came from an older Oprah magazine issue and I use this every time I have tofu in the house. It is easy and delicious. Enjoy!

This may be boring, but my favorite way to have tofu is fried up in a pan with soy sauce and veggies. My mom used to make it for us as kids and it has a warm, nostalgic feeling for me.

Best tofu dish: grilled tofu tacos! You can add anything you like, my favorites are avocados, tomato, grilled onions, and salsa on gluten-free tortillas. YUM!

Hands down, my favorite homemade tofu recipe is one blending silken tofu with spices and broth powder into a creamy, rich pasta sauce, adding some blanched spinach and get out of my way! :)

I’m not a huge fan of tofu (I think because I first tried it in the college cafeteria and it was nasty), but I made some Italian calzones with tofu once. They were OK.

I like a veggie tofu stir fry with peanut sauce. I also have a great recipe for spicy tofu and string beans (I should pull that one out again I haven’t made it in ages…)

My mom just bought be a cannon for my birthday. It’s an SD1200. I’m not an expert at using it yet, but you can check out the photos on my blog to see some examples.

I love baking tofu by pressing it and putting together a yummy marinade to turn it in before baking. The texture is sooo yummy and is the perfect addition to a side of spinach and sweet potatoes! :)

I love eating tofu wraps! I get a spinach tortilla and stuff it with plain tofu, black beans, and roasted vegetables. After being in the fridge for a while the flavors blend mushily and deliciously!

I love tofu in so many ways. Right now my favourite way to use tofu is in stir-fry. Instead of using meat that the recipe calls for, I substitute in tofu!

I bought a canon a few months ago. It’s the Canon Powershot SD 780 IS Digital ELPH. It cost me $250 bucks. I purchased it from newegg.com. Their prices are usually 30-50 dollars less on cameras then at retail stores like best buy. Canon cameras are the best! For a point and shoot, the pictures are suprisingly crisp.
