Work, Work, Work

September 7, 2009

Even though it’s Labor Day, I spent a good portion of my day working. I got a lot done, so I guess I’m feeling okay about working on my day off.

Around 2:00 pm, I took a break to eat lunch, which was leftover Herbed Cheese Pizza from last night.

And a salad with tomatoes, green pepper, and balsamic vinegar.

Pizza + salad = good lunch! :-D

Snack

As an afternoon snack, I combined an Oatmeal Raisin Bar with leftover cinnamon-pear topping from breakfast. It was an awesome dessert-like snack.

Workout

Just a little while ago, I got back from a GREAT interval workout using a podcast from MotionTraxx. MotionTraxx has the BEST podcasts for workouts– seriously, I love them! When I was training for a half marathon last spring, I raved about their “Fitness Magazine Half-Marathon Mix,” and now I am obsessed with their “Drop a Jeans Size ‘09″ series.

This afternoon, I did their “30-Minute Cardio Machine Melter,” which is meant for cardio machine workouts, but I took it outside for a running workout. I covered a little over 3 miles in 30 minutes, and seriously pushed myself during the sprint intervals. I kicked my own butt! My stupid hip is already sore from running, but I’m meeting with an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully, the end of all this hip pain will be soon.

It’s Mal’s turn to cook tonight! His meal sounds like it will be delicious! We just cracked a bottle of wine, so I’m off to enjoy and help my hubby cook.

Sorry your hip is still hurting you. I have hip issues too. I can’t run as much as I used to. Sad! We played tennis and I went on a run today. It was a great day! Enjoy your dinner!

I did lots of work today too! But I think the fall-like weather is conducive to it. Good luck with the hip! I’m training for the Boston half marathon in October and I think I just threw out my knee.

Working today, too! I’m ok with working when other people are off, though, because when you are self employed you are helping you. And I’m ok with helping me all the time!

mmm leftover pizza + salad is a great lunch! the promise of leftovers the next day is always what keeps me from eating way too much pizza… moderation means i get it more times!

Mmm, leftover homemade pizza sounds delicious. And that pear topping would be great on oatmeal, too.

Working on your day off sucks, but I also like the sense of accomplishment when you’re done. Yummy looking lunch! :)

Sorry about the hip. I hope the orthopedist has some answers. I know how frustrating it can be to want to run and not be able to due to injury (I dealt with my back problems and couldn’t run for over a year).

At least you feel good about getting work done even if you were working. It’s better than having to work and hating every minute of it.

I know you’ve said this sometime before, but what exactly happened to your hip? I’m sorry you’re having to deal with it :-( Hips & knees man! Not cool.

Leftover pizza is always good–sometimes I think it’s better than fresh-outta-the-oven pizza!

I swear Motiontraxx use subliminal messages or something, I have my best runs when I listen to them!
