It’s Nice To Be Home
Of course, I had an amazing time in wine country and San Francisco, but I am so glad to be home. My life has been crazy these past few weeks (i.e. living with friends, moving to a new apartment, traveling across the country), I feel like I’ve barely spent any time with Mal (or Murphy). It’s been really nice hanging out and catching up this evening. I missed my guys!
Mal and I kept things low-key for dinner and ordered take-out sushi from the restaurant directly next door to our new apartment. Literally, it’s a stone’s throw away.

Mal and I shared 3 maki rolls for dinner:
- Spicy tuna (our favorite)
- Tempura shrimp
- Avocado

And, I’m happy to report that they were pretty decent sushi rolls! Yay!
Considering how close the restaurant is located to our apartment, it would have been a huge bummer if they tasted terrible! This place is going to be sweet in the dead of winter when we don’t want to travel far for our sushi fix.

For dessert, I had a fortune cookie. My fortune wasn’t anything exciting, but Mal’s said he would receive some exciting news by mail. I wonder what that could be?!

Time to unwind and get ready for the work week. Back to the grind!
Good night!

good food near home is the best!
we’re closer to an amazing beer store than amazing food. this, of course, is both good and bad.

I miss good local sushi. The only places around here are too far or too expensive. That makes sushi much more of a treat. I used to eat it at least every other week and now I’m lucky if I get it every other month :0(
But yeah for family time. I’m sure your boys appreciate time with their girl

I loved hearing about your trip! Yum sushi, both light and indulgent. and imo, you don’t need a fortune cookie!
melissa — September 27, 2009 @ 9:47 pm
oh, by that I meant, you are already very fortunate

I love reading fortune cookies, sometimes they can be pretty hilarious. Plus we like to add “in bed” or “on the toilet” to the end of the message, hehe. Glad you had a good time and made it back home safely. Hope you have a good week coming up

I would use $5000 to pay off my credit card debt, and put the rest into savings. It’s no fun getting paychecks and putting any extra money towards paying off that debt, and I feel like there is no end in sight because soon my student loan payments will start

Oops… that was definitely supposed to go on the other post. Ah well!
