Glitzy Ritzy Giveaway

September 8, 2009

I’m at a doctor’s appointment for my hip again, so I set up this giveaway post ahead of time for you guys.

As you know, Mal and I have been living with our friends, Dave and Marie, for the past week. Marie is a jewelry designer and offered to giveaway an autumn-inspired earring and ring set on Carrots ‘N’ Cake.

I take my niece to a different haunted house each weekend in October. It’s fun to watch her get scared and then giggle when she remembers it’s not real. I hope it’s something we’ll still do even when she’s a teenager.
Thanks Tina!

Camping in Asheville, NC then going to the local apple orchard and picking apples! So much fun, especially when we roast apples in foil packets over a campfire that night. :)

My favorite autumn tradition is going apple picking! I used to go with my family when I was a kid; now I go with my husband, and sometimes with other friends as well. I can’t wait to go this year, and to enjoy the cider doughnuts that are inevitably consumed . . . .

too many fall activities to choose from! I would have to say I most look forward to picking out a prime pumpkin (usually from those roadside stands), carving it into a jack-o-lantern, and cooking the pumpkin seeds with cinnamon!

I can’t say that I have an autumn tradition, but I do find that in the fall I always find a little extra quiet time for myself. There is nothing quite as relaxing as taking a walk, feeling the chill in the air, listening to the bustling of the newly fallen leaves, and soaking in all of the glorious crimson and gold rainbows. It is simply breathtaking…

Everything! I grew up in Florida, so I did not get to really enjoy autumn until I moved up north for college. I love the changing of the leaves, the cool crisp air during a bright, sunny day and pumpkins. I love it all!

That ring is absolutely stunning! I looked at some of Marie’s jewelry on shutterfly and it’s beautiful!

I like autumn (playing in the leaves, taking hikes, eating fresh squash and pumpkin), but one of my favorite traditions is going apple picking then making homemade applesauce :)
