Vermont Wedding Weekend: Part 3

August 10, 2009

Vermont is a beautiful place for a wedding! :-D

Here’s the final recap of the wedding weekend: the ceremony and reception.

IMG_4901.JPG

It was a warm, sunny day– perfect for an outdoor wedding. Bagpipes played for the pre-ceremony music.

IMG_4888.JPG

The groom and his men hydrated themselves before the ceremony. I bet those coats and kilts were HOT!

IMG_4890.JPG

The ceremony started promptly at 3:00 pm with the bridesmaids navigating a steep hill and then walking down the isle. The bride soon followed, escorted by both of her parents.

IMG_4895.JPG

The ceremony was lovely. I got a little choked-up!

IMG_4897.JPG

Mr. and Mrs.!

IMG_4898.JPG

The wedding party had 20 people in it! The big group looked really cool walking together.

IMG_4899.JPG

A cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony.

IMG_4910.JPG

I drank a glass of Pinot Grigio on the outdoor patio before dinner. It was wonderful catching up with old friends and chatting with new ones.

IMG_4911.JPG

The reception was held at the gorgeous Edson Hill Manor in Stowe, Vermont.

Inside the tent:

Our table:

How cute are the centerpieces and table numbers!?! Loved ‘em! :-D

IMG_4921.JPG

IMG_4923.JPG

Pretty!

IMG_4924.JPG

Table 17 decided to take a prom shot! :-D

IMG_4926.JPG

IMG_4928.JPG

Dinner started with a simple garden salad.

IMG_4929.JPG

Before the main course was served, the bride and groom had their first dance. They’re were so sweet together!

IMG_4931.JPG

IMG_4933.JPG

Dinner was one of the best that I have ever eaten at a wedding: grilled salmon, cold orzo salad, steamed carrots, and wild mushroom risotto. Delicious and nutritious!

IMG_4940.JPG

IMG_4944.JPG

The guys! Check out the groom’s sneakers!

IMG_4946.JPG

The night got chilly, so I threw on Mal’s suit coat to stay warm.

IMG_4947.JPG

The bride and groom nixed the traditional wedding cake and went with cupcakes instead! Yum!

IMG_4950.JPG

Coffee + cupcake = happy gal!

IMG_4951.JPG

One of the best parts of the evening was a visit from the bride and groom’s French bulldog, Sophie. She’s too cute!

IMG_4953.JPG

I love that she got all dressed up for the event!

IMG_4958.JPG

The rest of the evening was spent getting down on the dance floor!

IMG_4976.JPG

IMG_4983.JPG

And a male model pose from the guys! ;-)

It was an absolutely amazing wedding!

Thanks, Denning and Jenny! And CONGRATS!!!

Love the kilts! My family is Scots too… you know, it’s traditional for the men to wear nothing underneath! Wonder if these gents kept that practice!

Yay, cupcakes! I prefer those to cake anyway, perfect serving size :)

Laura August 10, 2009 at 11:58 pm

Beautiful dress, Tina! And lovely photos – you and Mal both look like such genuinely lovely, nice people.

I really like the bride’s dress, and her mother’s dress too! The mother of the bride dress looks almost Regency-style, like she ought to be in Jane Austen. :)
