What an amazing wedding! Everything about it was truly perfect– from the actual event to the beautiful rural location and special weekend accommodations. The bride and groom arranged for their “younger” guests to stay at the Winding Brook Lodge in Stowe, Vermont.

The lodge was so cool! It had a rustic and cozy feel with its wooden floors and antique furnishings, but it also had many modern conveniences including a bar, a pool table, a heated swimming pool, and an outdoor hot tub. The lodge has 15 bedrooms that slept 40 people. It was quite the party house– ideal for a wedding celebration!

I wish that I had taken more photos of the lodge. It was so sweet!

Our room was really nice with a huge king size bed and our own private bathroom. We got the hook-up!

The lodge was also perfect for karaoke…

Boozing…

Mmmmm… keg beer!

And lots of beer games!

Friday (and Saturday) night at the lodge was a PAR-TY!

Friday night was a blast! I definitely drank my fair share of beers and stayed up WAY past my bedtime. Miraculously, however, the next morning, Mal and I woke up and went for a 3-mile run on the Stowe bike path. The run helped me sweat out some of the booze from the night before!
More to come!

My roommate always makes fun of me because I like to run to cure hangovers–I need to physically sweat out the booze! I can’t wait to see more pics!
I used to go for early morning runs after long nights out in college too. I have no idea how I did it, but I would always feel WORLDS better afterwards.

My fiance and I looked at Winding Brook Lodge for our upcoming 9/12 wedding. We decided on The Grand Isle Lake House (which sleeps 30), but it’s really fun to see what the festivities might have looked like there! I look forward to part II.
