Murphy’s First Trip to the Dog Park

August 30, 2009

It was a beautiful morning for a trip to the dog park! 8-)

Murphy’s first dog park experience didn’t start out that great. It was a lot to take in at once, especially for a little pup! He was so nervous!

IMG_6293.JPG

Murph didn’t really like the big dogs.

IMG_6294.JPG

He wasn’t a fan of exploring much either.

IMG_6291.JPG

And he stayed close to ‘mom.’

IMG_6302.JPG

Eventually, though, Murphy made some friends– of his own size!

IMG_6292.JPG

He met some nice humans, too. People loved him! Murphy was quite the puppy celebrity at the dog park!

IMG_6300.JPG

Muprhy even played in the water for a little bit!

IMG_6306.JPG IMG_6314.JPG IMG_6317.JPG

And he met some PUGS!

IMG_6327.JPG IMG_6329.JPG

There were 9 pugs at the dog park today! I was in pug heaven!

IMG_6333.JPG

The dog park definitely exhausted Murphy. He’s sound asleep at my feet right now.

IMG_6332.JPG

After the dog park, we headed home to eat lunch. I made a turkey sandwich with cucumber slices and Dijon mustard on a Sandwich Thin.

IMG_6337.JPG

I had some grapes (X3) on the side.

I’m not sure what’s on the agenda for the afternoon, except for giving Murphy a bath later on. He got so dirty at the dog park!

Enjoy Sunday, blog friends!

He’s BY FAR the cutest pug. Keep the Murphy posts coming! They make me smile dorkily at my computer! Haha.

Murphy is SOOOOOO cute!!!! I love the “pug party”, lol! At the dog park in my area they have 2 sections – one for small dogs and one for large dogs.

Oh my goodness. I would be going crazy with all those adorable dogs around. The look on Murphy’s face reads ‘Mom, I am so tired, I just want to go home and pass out’. He he :)

You are making me really want to get a dog, I keep making my boyfriend look at Murphy’s new photos. Slowly but surely I think I am warming him up to the idea. Muahaha.

Have a wonderful afternoon!

Murphy is so precious! Is it weird that I think it was adorable that he was so nervous and attached to ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ at first? So cute. :) He makes me want to be a fur-mom. :)

awwww! i remember julius being scared at my feet the first time being “socialized” too. before we knew it he was wrestling others to the ground – have fun with the bath – will this be his first one? we had to give julius a lot of treats to keep him in the water!

That dog park is beautiful! The dog parks here where we live (in California) are not nearly as scenic…just a fenced in area with wood chips! Murphy is a lucky guy! And absolutely ADORABLE! I can’t get enough of his cute face!

Murphy is adorable! I’m not normally a pug fan, but he is the exception to the rule-I could start at his cute face and chubbo body all day! Don’t you LOVE those sandwich rounds? Costco has them so I was able to stock up… need some good sandwich ideas…

Murphy cuteness makes my day!

Natalie Dee has some really great comics about her two pugs. This one is pretty good, I think, and is appropriate since your Murphy seems in need of the dreaded bath time!

Murphy looks like such a little baby in all his pictures! He really is the cutest puppy I’ve ever seen. My dog cowered between mom’s feet as well when I took him to the dog park. He’s more of a people-dog than a dog-dog, so he loved the attention from all the humans, but the sniffing and wagging tails he could live without.

Murphy is MUCH cuter than those other pugs ;) . Looks like his first day at the dog park was pretty successful!

Where is this dog park? I haven’t found any decent ones in Boston… is this one in Quincy?

I FINALLY found sandwich thins! I am excited to eat them this week. Glad you had a fun time at the park! We have a dog park near our house, but no dog:( Hubs is allergic. So sad! I really want a golden retreiver.

There were two pug puppies at our dog park this morning. I thought of little Murphy. And tried to think of a way I could sneak one of those cute little puggies into my pocket. I WANT ONE SO BAD! Murphy is adorable. My husband says our boxer is enough work though. He’s right. :( Keep posting Murphy pics please!

I love dog parks! My boyfriend and I go to one every Saturday so we can look at all of the dogs. :) Luckily he is like me and loves all of the little ones! We saw two ADORABLE pugs yesterday and I thought of your blog. One of them snorted like a pig… too cute!

Awww, Murphy’s too cute!! My dog Ripsey is the same way at dog parks… won’t leave my side until finally she warms up to her fur friends.

The other day, my BF and I took our dog to the dog park…we had a blast deciding which highschool stereotype each dog would be. Our pup, Sam, was the laid back stoner that everyone likes.

A lot of dog parks have a separate area for small dogs. It might be worth a look around!

Reply

Tina August 31, 2009 at 8:36 am

@Caroline: Unfortunately, there wasn’t an area for small dogs. Otherwise, we would have taken him there!

Kate August 31, 2009 at 9:15 am

That dog park looks gorgeous! Much nicer than the one I go to in Somerville :) Murphy is super cute. As someone else said, enjoy the puppyhood! It doesn’t last forever…
