Just the 7 of Us

August 29, 2009

Mal, Murphy, and I have been reunited once again! Yay!

My guys arrived at our apartment bright and early, so we could pack-up and “move in” with our friends, Dave and Marie (and their dogs, Bella and Grady), for the next 2 weeks. The 7 of us are going to have a blast!

Currently, our apartment looks like this:

It’s basically in shambles– half packed, half not. :-?

Our new digs for the next 2 weeks look like this:

My new blogging space:

So much better, right? And, I get to be with my hubby, puppy, and friends! I’m a happy gal!

(Surprisingly, I wasn’t fan of living alone. I was so lonely! :-( )

For lunch, the 4 of us headed to Papa Gino’s.

IMG_6166.JPG

Mal and I shared a small fountain soda mixed with Diet Coke and Cherry Coke. I usually don’t drink/like soda, but this combo was tasty!

IMG_6169.JPG

The guys especially like the Italian-inspired artwork on the walls of the restaurant.

IMG_6171.JPG

They made up little stories for each of the people in the paintings.

IMG_6172.JPG

Some of them were actually pretty funny!

IMG_6173.JPG

The 4 of us split a large cheese pizza for lunch.

IMG_6174.JPG

I ate 2 small pieces with Parmesan on top. Mmmmm! I love Papa Gino’s pizza! It reminds me of high school!

IMG_6176.JPG

After lunch, we went grocery shopping for the week. We bought so much food– including 17 bananas!!

What can I say, we’re a group of banana lovers! ;-)

IMG_6177.JPG

Holy groceries!

Each of us planned a meal for the work week, so on our designated day, we are responsible for cooking the “family dinner.” We’ve got some yummy meals planned!

IMG_6180.JPG

Surprisingly, our grocery bill wasn’t too expensive– I guess all of our meal planning really helped keep the costs down!

It’s a rainy day here, so we’re spending the afternoon playing board games and relaxing.

Hope that you’re enjoying your Saturday! See ya for dinner!

I haven’t had papa ginos in YEARS!! I’m afriad I’ll wolf down a whole pizza myself if I ever went in there. Just the scent of their pizza makes me drool. Were you in the Btree papa’s? They probably have all the same paintings but that one looks like their’s.

PS- Good luck moving!! And have fun living with your friends, but most importantly, your guys!

I LOVE Papa GIno’s too! I had my 8th birthday party there and cried because they made me go behind the counter alone and make my own pizza. I was just a huge baby. I haven’t been there in a while but there’s one in my hometown where I am right now!

Good luck with the move!!

Wow, sounds like you have some really GREAT friends!! A non-soda lover as well, I actually have been drinking a mixture of diet coke and regular root beer this week because I have been sick with no appetite and I have been needing the sugars to get me through the day (I can’t keep any food down). I think regular soda is way too syrupy and diet soda tastes like seltzer so this combo has been working really well. Enjoy the next two weeks of friend, husband, and puppy bliss! I’m excited to hear how it all works out!!

Papa Gino’s! They definitely make some great cheese pizzas; too bad every other pizza they make is junk. Other than pepperoni, once Papa starts putting toppings on their pizzas they get all soupy and sloppy. Cheese pizza at Papa Gino’s is something special though!

Hi Tina,
I was laughing reading about your diet coke and cherry coke combination because I used to do that whenever there was cherry coke anywhere in a fountain I could do myself. I don’t really drink soda anymore, but if there’s cherry coke and diet coke I probably would have some. The meal planning for the week sounds great too. I’m looking forward to seeing what you all create.

HAHA! MAN. Mal is like CONSTANT entertainment for you huh? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a picture of him not smiling/happy/upbeat! You’re one lucky lady :)

And YAY for being reunited with Murphy/Mal/Friends! I live alone and definitely know how lonely it can be at times (but also kind of nice at times too)!

Love Papa Ginos. I love how the artwork on the walls is the same everywhere and hasn’t changed since I was about 5 years old. Good luck with your move!
