HLS: Afternoon Session

August 15, 2009

I can’t believe the Summit is over just like that! What a whirlwind!

After lunch, Regina Beidler, an organic dairy farmer, spoke to the group. Her talk was truly outstanding– it was easily my favorite of the day! Now, I want to move to Vermont and become a dairy farmer!

The next presentation was from Body + Soul Magazine about natural beauty products. It was fascinating, but now I’m nervous to look at the ingredients in my current beauty products! 8-O

I watched much of the speakers via live streaming. Many thanks to Mark and ambush.tv! :-D

Then Caitlin made a brief presentation about Operation Beautiful, followed by an interactive exercise. She asked attendees to write what they love most about themselves on an index card.

The cards were gathered as part of a random drawing giveaway.

A few of the attendees received sweet prizes– especially the $300 gift card to Athleta! I’m jealous!

We broke for a mid-afternoon juice bar sponsored by POM Wonderful. I LOVE POM! It’s obviously delicious, but its health benefits are pretty amazing too!

The Summit attendees lined right up for the POM juice bar. It was a big hit!

Delish!

The final agenda items for the day were “Fitness for Everyone” hosted by the 6 HLS bloggers. Caitlin and I talked about injuries; Kath talked about fitting in exercise; Jenna talked about yoga, and Meghann and Heather talked about training for a fitness event. We’re not experts, but we hope that everyone enjoyed what we had to say about our respective topics!

After our mini-presentations, we spent about 20 minutes playing games for giveaways. There was so much swag to giveaway!

And, finally, we concluded the Summit with some closing remarks and group photo.

I still can’t believe the Summit is over! I’m sort of sad, but I have a feeling a HLS 2010 could be in our future! ;-)

And, finally, a BIG THANKS to our wonderful sponsors, especially Stonyfield! We couldn’t have done it without you!
