Wow! What a concert! Coldplay really knows how to put on a show! They were amazing!!!
We arrived at Great Woods (Comcast Center… whatever) a few hours before the concert, so we could tailgate. I started with an iced cold Bud Light. Not my favorite beer, but it was HOT hanging out in the parking lot!
I drank 4 beers over the course of about 4 hours. I followed them up with a lot of water, so I woke up feeling 100% this morning.
While tailgating, we made up our own version of Beruit/caps, which we called “Cooler Caps.” The friendly competition kept us entertained for a couple of hours.
Our friends brought lots of yummy munchies for the tailgate. I snacked on a few chips over the course of the afternoon.
Around dinnertime, Mal fired-up the grill.
We had lots of “grillables.” 😀
I ate a grilled veggie burger on a toasted Arnold Sandwich Thin with wasabi horseradish smeared on top. That stuff packs a punch!
Andy tried the wasabi horseradish on his wiener. (He also wanted to be on the blog! 😉 )
During our tailgate, a Qdoba promotion came driving through the parking lot.
Mal and Andy saw this promotion as the perfect opportunity to score some free stuff. They tried to convince the promotional staff to give them free t-shirts.
Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.
I tried to win some free stuff by tossing balls into Qdoba’s blow-up cactus.
I was horrible and missed every toss!
Mal wasn’t much better.
However, Andy won a bottle opener keychain. Sweet!
Too many Bud Lights! Ugh. Poor Mal!
Around 7:30, we headed into the venue for the concert. The opening acts were just so-so.
Coldplay was absolutely outstanding! It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen! Chris Martin is such an amazing entertainer. Holy energy!
During “Yellow,” Coldplay sent big yellow balloons filled with confetti into the crowd. There were so many of these huge, yellow balloons bouncing around– it looked so cool!
And my favorite part of the night was a “cell phone wave” followed by a cover of MJ’s “Billy Jean.” It was awesome! I’m so glad that we got it on video!
