Tropical Flavors

July 9, 2009

Not surprisingly, Boston is cold and gray this morning. :-? But, my breakfast was cheery and inspired by tropical flavors. 8-)

My special birthday papaya was ready and ripe to eat this morning.

I gave Amazing Grass another try and added their Pomegranate Mango Infusion Amazing Meal to my smoothie.

In the mix:

  • Papaya
  • 1 packet of Pomegranate Mango Infusion
  • 6 oz. Oikos vanilla Greek yogurt
  • Handful of ice
  • Splash of vanilla soy milk

The end result was just so-so. The Pomegranate Mango Infusion had a weird taste to it, and I couldn’t really taste the papaya because the Infusion dominated the flavor. I suppose the smoothie got better as I drank it, but overall, it was chalky with a tart, artificial flavor. At least it was good for me, right?

Before my workout this morning, I snacked on a bowl of Peanut Butter Bumpers.
