My mom and I shopped until we dropped today! I didn’t realize how tiring shopping can be! But, we were able to cross a ton of stuff off our list for my sister’s wedding shower.
I can’t show you guys what we bought because my sister reads my blog (Hi, Sister!), but we did buy a lot of this:
Margarita mix! 
Lunch
Mid-afternoon, my mom and I both got hungry for lunch. We wanted something quick, but we also wanted to relax a little, so we decided on Chili’s. Chili’s doesn’t have the healthiest food options on their menu, but I can usually find something relatively healthy to eat at most restaurants.
After pursing the menu, I ordered the “Bottomless Express Lunch,” which includes a choice of soup and salad.
I had the Southwest Vegetable Soup, which was a vegetarian tomato broth with diced tomatoes, corn, green chile peppers, green beans, red kidney beans, and onions. It was topped with tortilla strips and mixed cheese. The soup was surprisingly delicious!
I also ordered the House Salad without dressing. It was pretty standard, and the combination of soup + salad filled me up.
My mom and I share the same post-meal sweet tooth, so we shared a Twix. I forgot how much I liked Twix. Man, they are yummy! 
At Costo, my mom treated me to a 18-pack of Larabars They’re SO MUCH cheaper in bulk form! I wish we had the space in our apartment to store this type of stuff. 
I can’t believe it’s already time to think about dinner. This day has flown by!

OMG where did you get the Larabar variety pack?? My only caveat is that the cashew cookie flavor sucks. Do they have other flavors?
And Twix bars are AWESOME!
Was that a Christmas Tree Shoppe cart? I LOVE that store and go visit every time we’re in New York. I only wish we had one a little further south

Aww, shopping with mom is the best! Whenever I visit my parents, my mom insists on taking me to the grocery store to stock up

I always underestimate the power of a good twix too! My mom used to buy them when we were little – in the peanut butter variety. They always remind me of home.

Tina, Do you typically eat your salads without dressing?
I notice you bring them from home for lunch quite often and wonder if you get bored without the dressing.
I am always so tempted to buy those bulk larabars from costco – but I am sooo hesitant because I have never tried the cashew cookie flavor…how is it?
@Lisa M: I rarely have dressing on my salads. If I do, it’s balsamic vinegar.

Chrisine, I’m glad you had a fun and productive day — I did too. You’re a good daughter! Sorry you had to go back to reality world. Just wanted to let you know we’ve got the whole favor thing under control: bags, ribbon etc.
Love Costco but have the same problem – no space. We have a membership and I even have a gift card burning a hole in my wallet, but waiting till we move to a bigger place. Just think – when you guys move into the new place, you will have room for Costco shopping trips! Another thing to look forward to!

Wow, I haven’t had a twix in ages. I use to eat Milky Ways like it was my job. Now I am craving some candy bars.

Twix are pretty awesome chocolate bars. And it’s great that it comes in two pieces – you can share, or save half for later
I’ve looked at the Larabar package from Costco before, but I wish it came with different flavours, because the ones it does come with aren’t my favourite.

Costco has Larabars! Why do I belong to Sam’s Club again? Haha. I just went to Chili’s on Sunday and was wondering how that soup was, thanks! When I go there, I usually order the Fajita Pita (with chicken and no sauce) and sub veggies for fries, it’s fairly healthy and sure does taste good
