Sea Biscuit Cafe
I am head over heels in love with CHARLESTON! Erica and Josh have done a wonderful job showing-off their city!
I decided to sleep in this morning instead of running on the beach with Kath and Erica. I sort of felt like a bum not going with them, but I really needed the extra sleep. Being a tourist is tough work!
After a slow start this morning, Mal and I headed downstairs where we were greeted by a fresh pot of coffee.

I added non-fat milk and cinnamon to my mug. So good!

The group sipped coffee and relaxed for a little while before heading to brunch at the Sea Biscuit Cafe near Isle of Palms beach.

KERF, Itzy’s Kitchen, and Carrots ‘N’ Cake…

The group at brunch…

I loved the funky decor inside of the cafe.

I started brunch with iced coffee with cream and a half packet of Sugar in the Raw.

I ordered the “small” fruit plate, which ended up being much larger than expected. I ended up sharing it with Mal and Kath.

I also ordered an egg and biscuit sandwich, which was delicious and totally satisfying. I forgot how much I loved biscuits!

I took a couple of shots of the fruit salad because I was so impressed by it. It was incredibly fresh and had so many different types of fruit in it. It was easily one of the best fruit salads I have ever eaten.

After brunch, we walked to the nearby beach and had another blogger photo shoot.
M&T at IOP…
(Man, I need a tan!)

Blogger husband responsibilities…

Action shot!

K&M…

We’re about 2 hours away from Charlotte. We plan to grab at quick lunch and head to the airport for our flight back to Boston. Mal and I have a “talk” planned for our flight home. I’m sure you can guess what it’s about!
See ya from the Northeast!

So nice to have you guys here! Happy Anniversary!!!!!!! Josh and I forgot to tel you this morning. Have a safe flight home. Again, let us know if there is anything you guys need

Gorgeous fruit salad – and yes, I agree that biscuits are amazing. Cooking Light has an awesome recipe for sweet potato biscuits, which I highly recommend.
Have you tried brewing coffee with ground cinnamon mixed right into the grounds? AWESOME.
Keep havin’ fun!
Christie @ Quit Your Diet — July 12, 2009 @ 2:55 pm
hhhmmmm…wonder what the talk is about. My guess is either baby talk or move to Charleston talk
Kristen — July 12, 2009 @ 3:10 pm
Happy Anniversary! I think it’s going to be baby talk…yay!!!! You guys would have the cutest little babies!!
Colleen — July 12, 2009 @ 3:12 pm
Wow, a moving talk? I really, really can’t wait until the hubby and I can talk moving…right now we’re working on finishing our graduate degrees, so no moves for us.
Colleen — July 12, 2009 @ 3:12 pm
BTW – happy anniversary!!!
Kathy (Moving Beyond Perfection) — July 12, 2009 @ 3:17 pm
Your posts are making me want to move to Charleston! Everyone just seems so much friendlier there and based on pictures (not that you can really tell with pictures? lol), even the air seems cleaner. haha I always thought myself a NYC type of girl, but I’m beginning to have my doubts. I just like it so much more when people are NICE!
Melissa — July 12, 2009 @ 3:21 pm
The fruit salad is making me drool! You and Mal just bought a house so I don’t think you’d move just yet…I think being around the bulldog made you guys decide to finally get a pug. You’re going to talk about puppies!
Colleen — July 12, 2009 @ 3:25 pm
Oh yeah – DUH! I completely forgot you just bought a house! Hmmmm…I think the talk about puppies is a perfect guess from Melissa! YIPPEE! That’s so exciting!
PS — July 12, 2009 @ 3:35 pm
Well, you just have a contract on the house, right? Not too late to back out…
My next guess is pug talk!
PS — July 12, 2009 @ 3:37 pm
I forgot to say, I love Charleston! I can see why you’d fall in love.
Hallie (Healthy Twists) — July 12, 2009 @ 3:38 pm
Hmmm…I’m voting for baby talk LOL just because I want to see which of the popular bloggers is going to have a baby first (well, not counting Christin at Eat Like Me haha)
Jen — July 12, 2009 @ 3:45 pm
I hope it’s NOT baby talk. I’m glad you slept in this morning… getting up on a Sunday to go for a run is pretty ridiculous in my book. Weekends are supposed to be for relaxation esp. when you work a 9 to 5.
Shannon (The Daily Balance) — July 12, 2009 @ 3:54 pm
Charleston sure is charming! I need to get me and the Mister down there ASAP!!
Lynn (The Actors Diet) — July 12, 2009 @ 3:57 pm
I wonder what a “large” fruit plate at that place looks like?!
Suzie — July 12, 2009 @ 4:01 pm
What a great trip… makes me want to visit Charleston soon!

I have to say, I love Charleston, but the rest of SC….well, not that great. If I were to return south I would definitely go back to NC, though even it has its problems. I love the south, but as a general rule there are a lot of issues in those states – lack of funding for education, extremely conservative politics, etc.
Hangry Pants — July 12, 2009 @ 4:25 pm
Are you and Kath combining forces to devlop one giant super blog?
Tina — July 12, 2009 @ 4:38 pm
Re: Babies!
We are NOT having a baby any time soon! It’ll be a good 10 years before we start a family… well, we’ll have a pug long before then.
the awkward white girl — July 12, 2009 @ 4:48 pm
i just wanted to say i love your blog. i’ve always been a long time lurk, so now i’m going to de-lurk!
… was it a pug talk, by chance??!
Claire — July 12, 2009 @ 5:37 pm
Just wanted to let you know that if you think YOU need a tan…then I am sunk! I might as well glow.
K — July 12, 2009 @ 5:41 pm
Is it pug time?! I sure hope so!! That biscuit sandwich looks fantastic! Hope you have a safe trip home!
BethT — July 12, 2009 @ 6:13 pm
Ten years, dang Tina! And I thought I was waiting a while…
Good for you.
Lola — July 12, 2009 @ 6:25 pm
Haha all the baby talk responses seem so random to me. Why in the world would y’all decide to discuss having a baby on a flight home from a weekend trip?? Of course, it’s got to be about moving to Charleston! Duh!
Lizzy — July 12, 2009 @ 6:32 pm
Tina. Your pictures look so amazing! I just recently started reading your blog and i absolutely adore reading what you have to say! i actually took the time to read past posts so i could play catchup! I hope you have a safe flight home. and hopefully your “talk” goes good! eek. keep us updated!
maria — July 12, 2009 @ 6:55 pm
Glad you had such a great time. I love Erica, she is the best! Glad you got to meet up! The fruit looks fabulous. Have a safe trip back! And fill us in on this talk soon:)
Gab* — July 12, 2009 @ 7:12 pm
That fruit salad looks amazing. I’m always reluctant to order them when I’m out as they tend to be a bit insipid.
marie — July 12, 2009 @ 7:55 pm
Yeah, I’m thinkin’ pug.
Danielle C. — July 12, 2009 @ 9:22 pm
Wow, that “small” fruit plate is gorgeous and anything but small.
Christina — July 12, 2009 @ 9:35 pm
That biscuit does look yummy. I haven’t had one in so long!
Jocelyn@ProjectBWord — July 12, 2009 @ 10:03 pm
Sounds like a good time! That fruit salad looks delish!

Haha – I love the blogger husband responsibilities – that’s too funny.
And WOW – that fruit salad is so beautiful I don’t know if I would’ve been able to eat it!
Looks like you guys had a blast together, I’m so glad
Andrea — July 13, 2009 @ 7:24 pm
Hi – first time post, long time reader. What’s the “talk” about???? Is their a move to the south in the future? Sorry, I’m nosey!
Stacey — July 13, 2009 @ 9:49 pm
