Circuit + Smoothie
Gotta make this post quick! We’re supposed to meet with our realtor in about 20 minutes!
After an awesome lower body circuit workout (it kicked my butt!), I whipped together a protein-packed recovery smoothie using the following ingredients:
- 1 container of Stonyfield Oikos Greek yogurt
- 1 packet of Vega Whole Food Smoothie Infusion
- 1 cup vanilla hemp milk
- 1 banana
- 2 figs
- 1 plum
- Handful of ice
I split the smoothie with Mal, so each one had approximately 19 grams of protein. Wahoo! I hope it keeps me full during our marathon afternoon of home tours!

This batch came out light and frothy! I loved the little chunks of chewy fig in the mix.

The sun finally came out in Boston!!!

Butt-Kickin’ Lower Body Circuit
- Single leg lunges
- Alternating leaping lunges (60 seconds)
- Calf raises
- Jump squats (60 seconds)
- Squats
- Jump squats (60 seconds)
- Single leg squats (only body weight, slow and controlled)
- Burpees (60 seconds)
- Pilet squats
- Butt kicks (60 seconds)
Repeat circuit 2-3 times. 3 sets takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.
For all of the bolded exercises, I did 15 reps and used 20 lbs. dumbbells. I rested as little as possible between exercises, but allowed myself to rest for about 2 minute between sets. I was a sweaty mess by the end!
Time to house hunt!!!

Good luck on your house tours. It’s such a process, I know! It took us almost 1.5 years to find the right place.
I’m saving this workout. It sounds awesome!

That smoothies looks good. Do you make these right away after working out? I know I am supposed to recover and refuel, but I usually feel full and nauseous for at least 45 minutes to an hour after a hard run.

That smoothie sounds great! Thanks for the reminder to buy some hemp milk
do you purchase it regularly or just from time to time?

what do you think of that vegan smoothie packet? …I have tryed it twice..I really wanted to like it, but EACH time I tryed it I literally gagged…it made my smoothies taste fake and chalk like :S

@Danielle: Yes, almost every week. Nutritionally, I think it’s the BEST “milk” out there!

@Jocelyn: I liked it. It didn’t think it was as chalky as other protein powders. Their Vanilla Chai flavor is amazing!

Wow nice workout. Did you get the circuit from a trainer or a book or put it together yourself?
on Jul 3rd, 2009 at 10:04 pm
@Stacy: I put it together myself.
