Charleston Love
I am totally in love with Charleston!
I sort of want to move here!?!
We arrived safe and sound in Charleston, where we met Erica and her husband, Josh, who immediately showed their Southern hospitality by welcoming us into their home.
Fresh fruit, yogurt, and pretzels were waiting for us when we arrived.

Frank, the English bulldog, also welcomed us to Charleston.

Love him!

Some goodies were also waiting for us on the bed in our room. What a fun surprise!

Yum!

Downtown Charleston was so incredibly charming! I loved it all! I could have easily wandered around all day!

During our walk, we stopped for a mini blogger photo shoot by the ocean.
The ladies: Kath, Erica, and me.

The couples…

Before dinner, we enjoyed a cocktail at a roof deck bar, which had live music and a really chill atmosphere. I sipped my Palmetto Amber beer and enjoyed the scene. It felt like vacation!

After drinks, we headed to dinner at the Southend Brewery.
The guys…

The gals…

The crayons and paper at the table really brought out the kid in these guys! Some of their drawings were ridiculous!

Mal and I shared the beer sampler, which had such a fun mix of brews. I especially loved the seasonal brew: a light, sweet-ish, ginger-flavored beer.

For dinner, Mal and I split the BBQ Chicken Pizza that was topped with onions, smoked gouda, mozzarella, and garnished with cilantro. After drinking a couple of beers, this pizza totally hit the spot!

After dinner, we popped into a candy store for a little dessert. I had a praline sample.

And then a chocolate-covered pretzel. Both were a delightful way to end the night.

I’m totally pooped after such a long day. Time for bed! Good night!

Tina! When you said you were going to visit Kath I didn’t put 2 and 2 together but I’m down near Charleston also!! I’ve been visiting friends in Kiawah Island for the past week, but how funny that you’re right around the corner. Looks like you’re having a great time – and that pizza looks fab!

Looks like such fun! I’ve been spending time in Charleston and some of the surrounding areas (by the way, I highly recommend Kiawah Island, it’s beautiful!) since I was about 6, and absolutely adore Charleston. It’s such a wonderful place. I keep saying that I want to move there at some point…lucky for me, my boyfriend is also very agreeable to this idea! Enjoy the rest of your trip

It looks like you guys are having a blast! I would also have chosen the beer sampler – I love variety. Ginger beer sounds so refreshing for summer!

Looks like a great mini-vacation you are having! That pizza sounds pretty awesome – I’m a big fan of chicken on pizza
It’s great that you have such economical air travel in the US, that allows you to go on little trips like that – it’s so expensive to fly in Canada.
Cait (Cait's Plate) — July 13, 2009 @ 9:55 am
Charleston DOES look charming! And so cute! I think I need to take a vacation there soon.
It’s always tempting to move to the South when you’ve dealt with years of Northeast winters!

I absolutely adore Charleston and have half considered moving there when my husband is done with school, but I’ve heard that it’s not a nice place to live unless you have money. Some of the outlying islands might be nice though…
