Breakfast Begins With B

July 28, 2009

Good morning, blogland! 8-)

I think I’ve finally got my exercise mojo back. As you remember, I was in a mini-slump last week, but it feels like it has lifted! (Btw, you guys had A LOT to say about “exercise guilt“!)

Last night, I had a sweaty 50-minute workout on the elliptical and then woke up bright and early for some at-home Body Pump. I feel like a new woman! :-D

Breakfast

This morning’s breakfast was all about the letter ‘B.’ I started with sliced banana and fresh blueberries.

And then moved onto a toasted whole wheat cinnamon raisin bagel with Barney Butter spread on top.

And finished with New England Coffee Breakfast Blend iced coffee.

A beautiful breakfast!

Party Hardy

I *think* I am proud of my alma materPrinceton Review lists top party schools

Lucky #13!!!

In college, I could party with the best of ‘em! Seven years later, however, it’s a totally different story. Grandma needs to be in bed after 2 glasses of wine! :-? Seriously, though, college was such a blast for me! Especially since, in high school, I was shy and dorky. A little booze helped me come out of my shell! ;-)

And, just for fun, here are some of my “party hardy” photos from college.

This pic is from Senior Week. The mean looking girl may not look like my friend, but she’s my best friend from college. She looks a lot nicer in this photo!

That was a fun night! ;-)

Question of the Day

Was/is your college a party school? Did it make this year’s Princeton Review list?

Don’t know if my colleges made the list (Clemson & Auburn) – but they sure where party schools!

Reply

Therese July 28, 2009 at 7:20 am

I went to the University of Florida…last year we were number one, but it seems we have slipped to number two! Working in a bar for 3 of the 4 years I can definitely agree with Princeton’s rankings :)

Oh to be in college again without a care in the world…

oh boy those are the real deal right there! lol
I went to a small university in northern ontario canada. You better believe we are probably the number one party school in canada. But we also have the best BA of education school in Canada so I guess we are known for a few things bahaha. Honestly though…friends of friends/bands…anyone! would come up to our school knowing it had a reputation and they were lookin for a good time! They most likely got one! lol

Wow I had no idea Union was such a big party school… it’s so small that I’m surprised it made the list, anyway.

I went to Bucknell – pretty big party school but not on the list. Union was my 2nd choice school though!

Aww love the “B” breakfast! I’m an elementary teacher, and my kids would love that! And those pictures are awesome! I go to UF and it’s said to be a “party school”, I had my fair share of it!

I think that most colleges are party schools! I happened to live in the party house at my college for a semester. I had no idea what I was in for when I moved in, I just wanted the cheap apartment! It. was. CRAZY!

Tina you crack me up with your college photos. It makes me want to party with you!

I go to Penn State, which was ranked #1. Funny thing is I don’t party at ALL almost! Haha.

i went to nyu – i never saw my neighbors and could only sign 3 people into a building at once! parties were tough haha. most people went out since we were right in the city – it was definitely a different college experience. love those college throwback photos!

MarathonVal July 28, 2009 at 8:18 am

I went to Indiana University which is ALWAYS on the list, although one year we were no longer on the Playboy list of party schools because they said that “it was inappropriate to include a professional in a list of a amateurs,”, haha!

Reply

Lee July 28, 2009 at 8:20 am

Do you know if UVM is on any of the lists? It’s not on the party one, I don’t think.

Reply

Amanda July 28, 2009 at 8:25 am

what brand of bagels are those!? I love cinnamon raisin but I can never find whole-wheat versions!

Reply

Allie Katie July 28, 2009 at 8:30 am

Haha yes the University of Southern California WAS a party school! I had a great time there! But my liver is glad I am no longer an undergrad for sure!

Reply

Tina July 28, 2009 at 8:31 am

@Amanda: I’m not sure to tell ya the truth. A friend gave them to us. I believe they’re from a local bakery.

Reply

Amelia July 28, 2009 at 8:33 am

Hahah love the party pics. My college, Fordham, didn’t make the list but we always said we partied as hard as we worked!

ha my college is the opposite of a party school, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t parties! however, many, many students spend friday night studying. we socialize at the library!

Reply

ttfn300 July 28, 2009 at 9:10 am

you went to union?? i grew up around there (in clifton park) :) my undergrad is definitely not on the list ;)

Reply

Quinn July 28, 2009 at 9:14 am

I went to Denison University where James Frey’s partying demise began – he wrote A Million Little Pieces. Needless to say it epitomized party school.

Reply

Mellissa July 28, 2009 at 9:19 am

Thankfully my school did not, however, half the Big 10 did. I went to the University of Minnesota and I have a feeling that most colleges in the Big 10 are similar ;)

Overall, I think alot of colleges are known for partying. Mine has “the groups” that party and such, but it’s not notoriously known for drinking! Looks like you made the best of it though :-)

Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) July 28, 2009 at 9:22 am

Wow…I’m actually shocked that the University of Massachusetts didn’t top the list. haha…I know it used to. Maybe times are changing for Umass? ;)

I’m stoked to buy the October Shape issue…that must have been a blast to participate as a model for the shoot. How fun!

Lovin’ the “B” breakfast too…:D

Julie July 28, 2009 at 9:24 am

Gotta love U. I can’t believe we made #13 though!

Reply

Carrie July 28, 2009 at 9:28 am

I went to Florida State a year or so after we were named #1 party school in the nation. This caused the Tallahassee Police Dept. to form what they called “Party Patrol” — with the sole purpose of driving around on Friday and Saturday night arresting underage drinkers and breaking up house parties. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Despite that annoyance, I still managed to have a darn good time. ;)

Reply

“B” is quite a useful letter! Those pictures of your college years made me really crack up. I currently attend Barnard College, Columbia University and it is the LEAST party school around. We are all a bunch of nerds haha.

Reply

Lo July 28, 2009 at 9:38 am

I go to Wash U in St. Louis.. VERY intense academically and unfortunately not a party school whatsoever

Reply

Rose July 28, 2009 at 9:44 am

I’m shocked my school didn’t make it on the list. But not surprised that Penn State was #1. I went to a couple parties there, and they were always insane. :)

Reply

aimeé July 28, 2009 at 9:47 am

I went to Ohio U but also partied with friends at penn state.

Reply

Sarah July 28, 2009 at 9:49 am

Nope, my school wasn’t on the list, which I expected. There are some parties here but I didn’t really partake in much. I mostly liked to party at home with my girlfriends. These days it takes just 1 glass of wine to put this old lady to bed, haha ;-)
