Impressed

June 3, 2009

My hemp bagel from breakfast held off my hunger really well! Besides oatmeal and the occasional smoothie, nothing holds me over until lunch. So, obviously, I was pleasantly surprised when lunchtime rolled around, and I was barely hungry. I’m thoroughly impressed with these babies!

On my way into work, I grabbed an iced coffee with soy milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg at Starbucks. I’m loving the sweet kick that the spices give to it.

Lunch

Mal made his delicious pasta salad for dinner last night, so I took leftovers for lunch today. Mal is a pasta salad genius. I love the combo of ingredients– light and summery, but hearty and filling.

I have a killer sweet tooth today, so I made my second part of lunch into a treat: Chobani Greek yogurt + fresh blueberries + butterscotch chips. Holy yum! It’s all about balance, people! ;-) As previously mentioned: killer sweet tooth today! :-?

Class Day

It’s Class Day at Harvard today, so the Yard is totally bumpin’ with visitors! Commencement is tomorrow, so today has been full of related ceremonies and activities. It’s madness!

Needless to say, with all of this excitement happening right outside of my window, I’ve been quite distracted from my work!

The Class Day activities include a guest speaker, which, this year, is TODAYshow host, Matt Lauer.

I snuck into the Dean’s reception this morning and stood just 5-feet away from Mr. Lauer, but I couldn’t muster-up the courage to introduce myself. :-? (FYI: In person, Matt Lauer looks just like he does on TV. He’s actually taller than I expected.)

Harvard is quite the hotspot for celebrities! In just 5 months, I’ve encountered Renee Zellweger and James Franco and met Demetri Martin and Mollie Katzen. What a cool job! :-D

Even at 8:30 this morning, the Yard was beginning to crowd with visitors.

I was invited to another “press” dinner tonight, so I won’t be blogging later on, but I prepared a post for you guys. It’s a fun one! :-D

What a great place to work!

I work downtown Ottawa, so the best I ever see SOMETIMES is the Prime Ministers motorcade! LOL!

OMG! I’m so jealous that you were in the same room as Matt Lauer. I saw that he was in Boston on the show today but I didn’t know why. He’s my favorite morning guy!

Sounds like a pretty interesting and fun place to work!

If two tiny tootsie rolls and a smattering of butterscotch chips is a Killer Sweet tooth, than I’m in trouble. This is why I don’t blog: I’m ashamed of my food!
