Cafe Ladro and Norm’s

Hi, guys! I am loovvving Seattle! I’ve taken lots of pics, but I haven’t blogged much because of my uploader issue. But, just this morning, I found a way around it! I used Ecto to upload my photos then published them to my blog and it worked! Sweet!

I’m a little behind on my posts, but here are some of the highlights from yesterday’s adventures. (You guys can also follow my vacation on Twitter!)

Cafe Ladro

Before breakfast yesterday morning, Mal and I popped into Cafe Ladro to get our java fix. Caffe Ladro is an espresso bar and bakery in the Fremont neightborhood of Seattle.

The decor at Ladros’ is simple, yet sophisticated. I loved the bright red walls and modern ceiling lamps. Cafe Ladro is definitely an easy place to linger.

Fremont seems so eco-friendly! Cafe Ladro offered free “Grounds for your Garden” to their customers. A number of people helped themselves to the free bags. So cool!

At Cafe Ladro, I ordered an iced coffee with rice milk. It was delicious and I’m glad that I gave rice milk a try, but I prefer soy milk in my iced coffee. It makes it much creamier!

Norm’s

After grabbing coffee, Mal and I headed next door to Norm’s for breakfast.

IMG_1704.JPG

I LOVE NORM’S!!! It’s a funky dog-friendly eatery and ale house with a chill, laid-back vibe. Boston really needs a place like this!

The walls at Norm’s were covered with dog-inspired photos and art work.

As you know, I really love dogs, so having them around when I was hanging out at Norm’s was such a fun experience for me. Having cute, furry creatures around made me soooo happy!

IMG_1710.JPG

Unfortunately, no PUGS stopped into Norm’s while we were there, but I saw this cute poster. I already convinced Mal that we need this print for our apartment! ;-)

IMG_1717.JPG

For breakfast, I ordered the Veggie Scramble that was scrambled eggs mixed with feta, spinach, and roasted red peppers. The scrambled eggs were to die for! Seriously, these eggs were probably the best I have ever eaten– soft and smooth with lots of natural flavor. The toast was tasty too– thick, grainy, and fresh. The homefries, however, were just so-so. Mal ended up eating them.

IMG_1718.JPG

There were so many cute dogs at Norm’s!

There were leash holders all over the restaurant to tie up the pups. Smaller dogs jumped into the booths with their owners.

If you’re in the Fremont area and love dogs, Norm’s is a must-see place!

I love that idea! But I wouldn’t want to wait tables there, I’d trip over some poor dog!

So glad you’re having fun out there! Both of these places look very cool. I love dog friendly restaurants! I wish Frank was better behaved…I’d take him to some of the ones we have around here. I haven’t tried rice milk yet, but think its cool that Cafe Ladro offers that option. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Aw, I’m glad you’re loving Seattle! You’ve been hitting up some of our favorite spots. My husband and I (and our puppy) also love Norm’s. Everyone who goes knows to expect dogs, so if you have allergies you know better than to have a beer at Norm’s.

My brother lives in Seattle (with his girlfriend and dog!) and I just sent this to them. If they haven’t been to Norm’s yet, they NEED to go! Next time I am in Seattle I am definitely going here!

I would probably spend all day at Norm’s just eating and playing with puppies…what a life that would be!

Wow I’ve never seen a restaurant in America that allows dogs, I wish more did! Practically all the restaurants in France allow dogs.

Norm’s looks so cool! Gotta love a dog friendly place. I live in very casual Florida and I’m still suprised at how un-dog friendly it is here in my city. At least when we were in Orlando last weekend our dog was welcome on a restaurant patio.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Wow! We live just north of Fremont and I had no idea Norm’s even existed!! We have to take Santana!! If it’s not already on your itinerary, you should definitely plan a trip to Theo’s Chocolate for a tour!

the Brendan Behan is the best! Right behind the MSPCA, though I don’t if they serve food – they do have an excellent craft beer list. Unfortunately the Milky Way is no longer around the corner.
