Harvard Yard is so beautiful this afternoon– just had to share!
The weather is perfect today: low 70′s and sunny.
I’d love to play hooky for the rest of the afternoon!
Oh well, one can dream!
Lunch
I scored a nice little table with a view of the Yard to eat my lunch today. The undergrads are in their final days of exams, so you can tell who is spending their day cramming and who is already celebrating summer vacation!
My lunch was a homemade salad, a piece of leftover cheddar-broccoli “malzone,” a very ripe peach, and a GNU bar (oatmeal raisin flavor) for “dessert.” The oatmeal raisin GNU bar tasted very much like a soft oatmeal raisin cookie. I’m not sure I can give up a real oatmeal raisin cookie on Cookie Friday, but this GNU bar is a wonderful alternative for when I get a crazy cookie craving!
Overall, it was an excellent lunch– delicious and satisfying on all fronts. For an afternoon snack, I have a Better Whey Yogurt (not pictured).
I hope you read my Health article this morning. To compliment it, here’s a cool article about smoothies from the NYTimes.
Enjoy the day, blog friends! After work, I’m off to yoga!

Awww…I’m originally from southern NH, so your pics of Harvard yard on this nice day make me miss New England!
I wish our weather was that nice right now! I would give anything for a sunny day at this point! We are overcast and plus 3 in MAY!! Anyway…loved the artical! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I usually cannot wait to have it in the morning!
hey tina, i was wondering if you are nervous about sundays race since you haven’t been running as much because of your hip or if you have altered your original goal to finish without stopping? i’m also running the half on sunday, hope we have good weather!
Where you work is SO lovely! Beautiful in comparison to my drabber campus.
@Audrey W.: Run without stopping is still the plan, but we’ll see what happens. At this point, I just hope my leg doesn’t fall off!
I just finished eating lunch outside here in Cleveland — I am LOVING this weather!
It’s so pretty! It makes me miss college
It is such a pretty day there! Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous photos!!! What a nice setting for lunch. I love eating out side. So fun!
Tina – I caved and paid the crazy price for my very first jar of Barney Butter last night!! SO Yummy!!! — but does yours separate? Do you keep it in the fridge or not?? LOVE the taste though!!
@Susan: Awesome! I hope you LOVE it! To answer your questions: no, it doesn’t separate and I don’t keep it in the fridge.
I liked your article a lot! It’s so cool that you get to write for Health!
Looks like such a lovely place to work!
Yummy-looking Gnu bar! I haven’t tried one in a *long* time.

Ok… I just had to laugh when I saw the pictures of Harvard Yard. On a day like that where I went to school, there would be students ALL OVER the grass playing frisbee or disc golf or napping, regardless of any impending final exams. At Harvard, the kids are actually STUDYING, which is why they are nowhere to be seen in the pics! Just one more reason why they are all probably TONS smarter than me!
Pretty pictures! And yes, that GNU is a wonderful alternative to an oatmeal raisin cookie!
That’s my favorite GNU! It does taste like a cookie
Gorgeous views!!
