I never would have never guessed that a grilled asparagus sandwich would be so incredibly delicious. Holy yum! I’m now obsessed with this sandwich… in particular, this sandwich!
My grilled asparagus sandwich included smokey eggplant spread, Parmesan, field greens, and balsamic vinaigrette on a baguette. The combo of flavors is out of the world!!! I’m in love!
In addition to being delicious, this sandwich is a good nutritional investment: 335 calories, 6 grams of fat, 5.5 grams of fiber, and 15.5 grams of protein. I’m sort of surprised that such a healthy (and yummy) sandwich came in a package!
Friday lunch at an outdoor cafe:
- Grilled asparagus sandwich
- Stonyfield yogurt (afternoon snack)
- Skinny Oatmeal Raisin Bar
- Iced coffee to go (not pictured)
What do you think of packaged sandwiches and salads?

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little weary of packaged stuff like that. But that looks delicious!!!! I would definitely try that. YUM!
Cool sandwich! I have no clue how to cook asparagus at home, so I’d probably get something like this.
I don’t loooove the packaged stuff, but if it’s from a cafe or something and I know they made it that day, I usually don’t have any qualms. But when you said “packaged sandwich,” I admit, I did think of the greasy yucky ones sitting in a cooler at the 7-11 for who knows how long… ew. Even in an emergency, I’d rather grab some yogurt and beef jerky or something!
I’m not big on the packaged foods either, but as a busy working mom, sometimes quick and easy foods are a necessity. Something like this sandwich is perfect for me because it is pretty healthy compared to the alternative.
The combo here sounds and looks delicious. I may need to try and recreate it!
Oh that sounds good. I think some packaged stuff can be really good, you just have to try a bunch until you find a great one.
I’ve had lots of bad luck with packaged stuff, but that looks fantastic!
Wow, I usually stay away from them because I figure they won’t be very good, but yours sounds delicious! One time I did buy a prepacked sammie at LAX and it was basil, sundried tomato, and smoked mozzarella, and that was pretty good.
Wow it looks so good, I would never have guessed it was packaged!
How interesting, I’ve never thought of putting asparagus on a sandwich!
That sandwich looks great! I stay away from packaged sandwiches because in the past most of the ones I’ve seen have already had mayo on them. I hate, loathe and despise mayo so I’ve just learned to stay away from all packaged sandwiches. I’d rather pack my own or have it made fresh at some place like Au bon pain.
I don’t really like packaged salads, but that sandwich looks great. I think I like packaged sammies, but I also like cafeteria food because I never had a cafeteria at my school so I think packaged stuff is good sometimes!
That sounds yummy… good lunch!
That sandwich sounds amazing. I checked out the website–what a wonderful idea!! I wish someone would open one of these up where I live.
That sandwich sounds fantastic!! I wish they had stuff like that around here!
As long as they are made with fresh ingredients, sounds great to me! I used to love getting the packaged sandwiches in England- they were everywhere!
It is a great idea for a sandwich, I’d like to try to recreate that at home
That looks so good! I love some packages sandwiches! I found a great hummus and avocado one at the health food store the other day!
On packaged sandwiches, I would be weary of thier “true” nutitional information. A lot of times, calories, fat, etc. Can be off.
I’m definitely weary of packed things like that because they are often a lot of calories for not a lot of food. That sandwich on the other hand, looks quite delicious!
That sandwich does look quite good!
I must prefer making my own sandwiches and salads over anything packaged.
I don’t like having unnecessary high-cal, high-fat spreads some pre-packaged sandwiches come with. I don’t care for the taste (or I can’t taste it at all) and I don’t care for the extra cals and fat.
I’ve had the chicken sandwich with chipotle and I have to say, it’s delicious. Really filling but left me feeling energized for the rest of the day instead of stuck in a carb coma!
That sandwich looks delicious. I’m not one who HUGELY relies on any sort of packaged food (although lunabars, larabars and odwalla bars are some of my best on-the-go foods) but once in a while a lean cuisine bar or something equally processed does hit some sort of guilty mmm-this-is-so-not-real-food-but-oh-so-good spot in my botomless pit
most of the time i’m not a fan of packaged sandwiches, they are usually blah tasting and soggy. But this sandwhich you had looks so good and the quality of it looks great! I have never seen that brand before.
I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little weary of packaged stuff like that, but since you recommend it, I will try it. Where did you get it?
I’m not usually a fan of packaged sandwiches, I find them quite dry, but that looks great!
gotta love the leftovers!! i felt the same way you did this am… waited as long as i could then made myself a green smoothie
I have never heard of a grilled asparagus sandwich, but it looks and sounds delicious!! I would try that in a heartbeat!
it’s a hit and miss, but yours looks devine!
Every packaged sandwich I have ever gotten has always been nasty and soggy, but I have very bad luck! I do like packaged salads though!
Beautiful sammie! As long as there aren’t any funky preservatives in them, I am generally OK with packaged items like that. They’re so convenient!
I’ve had some great (and some awful) prepackaged sandwiches- my general rule is if all the ingredients are stuff I could buy myself (ie, no weird chemicals or chemistry degree needed) and I know it’s made fresh that day, there are worse choices for quick lunches! Trader Joes do some good ones
It depends on where the packaged sandwiches are from. Whole Foods and ABP never disappoint!
