What a beautiful Sunday! I think spring has finally sprung in the northeast! I’m on my own this afternoon because Mr. Mal scored a ticket to the Red Sox game with his BBF! Two games in 3 days! What a lucky duck! I’m obviously jealous!
Long Run Recap
My long run yesterday was successful! It was exhausting, but I did it! My first run in the double digits!
What really helped me through the run was MotionTraxx.com’s “Fitness Magazine Half-Marathon Mix.” The mix has a beat of 168 BPM and kept my pace strong for more than an hour. There were even a number of times when I was in the zone, listening to the mix, and I looked down at my Garmin to realize that my pace was much faster than expected! The music really got me moving!
During my run, I did stop at one point (around 8.5 miles on a hill), but I only walked for about 15-20 seconds before picking up the pace again. I was so close to finished– I just sucked it up and kept running. I actually got a little lost in the neighborhoods nearby our apartment building, so I ended up running a little more than 10 miles! Oops!
Run stats:
- Distance: 10.67 miles
- Time: 1:36:10
- Average Pace: 9:01/mile
- Calories: 1085 calories
On my long run, I made sure to bring identification and emergency contact information. Of course, a Road ID is the way to go, but if you don’t have one, a business card with your emergency contact information written on it is also a good way to keep you safe. My business card fit perfectly inside my shoe wallet.
On the backside of my business card, I wrote Mal’s name and cell phone number– just in case he needed to be contacted.
Exercise + Errands
It was such a nice day, I needed to spend time outside today. I wanted to fit in some exercise as well as complete the grocery shopping for the week, so I decided to combine the two activities. I geared-up with my Garmin, iPod, and reusable grocery bag for my walk to the Fruit Center Marketplace, which is about 1.5 miles each way. (P.S. It’s really hard to snap a photo of yourself in a mirror!)
I love this place!
While shopping for groceries at the Fruit Center, I noticed a special deal for Puffins. Hooray, Puffins! I wonder if the Fruit Center heard my whining about their previous $5.19/box price? 😉
The Fruit Center has the most fantastic produce! Check out this beauty of a tomato! I later chopped it up for my lunch. 😉
Today’s lunch was a big ol’ salad with lots of goodies: arugula, tomato, broccoli, cucumbers, watermelon, pecans, and balsamic vinegar.
With a serving of Kettle Buffalo Blue chips and ice water…
I’m off to do some yoga. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, blog friends!
