Sasquatch Jerky!?

Did you guys realize that last night’s pizza was made with Sasquatch jerky? I’m talking 100% Sasquatch meat, which only costs $499.99 for 8 ounces?! I’m surprised that hardly anyone mentioned it. I got more comments about how delicious my pizza looked than how weird it was that I was eating Sasquatch jerky! Oh well. Happy April Fools Day! (The Sasquatch jerky is actually regular old bacon.)

Lunch

Today’s lunch was leftover Sasquatch pizza, which I ate cold. I love reheated pizza, but sometimes the cold version is the way to go! I love how the flavors intensify in leftover pizza (after sitting in the fridge overnight)! :-D

Lunch also included raw veggies: grape tomatoes and carrot and celery sticks. (There were a few more veggies in my baggie, but I started munching before I snapped a photo.)

I concluded lunch with the yummiest cookies ever! They were made by Late July Organic Snacks and reminded me so much of Oreo cookies, but they actually tasted healthier… but not “healthy” in a gross, cardboard-tasting way.

My vanilla bean with green tea sandwich cookies had so much flavor! At first, the green tea flavor sounded a little strange to me, but there was just a hint of sweet green tea that actually enhanced the vanilla flavor. The filling tasted “real” and not at all artificial like some vanilla cream-filled cookies. The ingredients and nutritional info for these cookies aren’t too shabby either!

Bonus Question of the Day

What’s the strangest/most adventurous food you have ever eaten?

I love sasquatch jerky but I usually save it for special occasions. It’s a little gamey but well worth the price.

you’re making me want my pizza that’s at home in the fridge! :) Those cookies sound interesting.

I’ve eaten alligator – that’s probably as strange as I’ve gotten in my 25 years.

Ooo yes I’ve tried the Late July Double Chocolate sandwich cookies and they are the best! I can’t think of anything too exotic that I’ve eaten but I recently downed some raw oysters which was a big step for me!

Your Pizza looks yummy and I was wondering where in the worl you would get sasquatch jerky from… but at least that would be a fun meal for the kids if you had them, especially on April Fools!! :)
I think that the strangest thing that I ever ate was frog legs when I was in France last summer. I am not sure I liked them, but because I was at a friends family home… I said that you and ate as much as I could!!
    Happy April Fools!!

mmm that pizza still looks tasty.

Weirdest thing I ever ate: Shrimp head, tentacles and all… I’m not too adventurous.

I am going to make homemade pizza this weekend for the first time…. any tips (cook time, temp, ingredients to stay away from, etc.)? Thanks!

    Happy Wednesday :)

I love those Late July Cookies…I have some in my cookie jar right now! Your pizza looks very good! I love pineapple and ham/bacon pizza, only now without cheese

We ate mystery meat that was served to us by our family in Italy…have no idea what it was, probably rabbit or another small animal of some kind. I was served a second serving cuz I needed to fatten up!!

How’s this for weird….ALIGATOR NUGGETS. I had them at this thai restaurant and they ended up being pretty tasty.
As always it tasted kinda like chicken, but had this strange kinda gammie flavor. If its ever on the menu somewhere give it a try.
On a tastier note, how are those late july cookies? I tried the vanilla ones.
Are they as good as oreos?

Ha, somehow I totally skated over the “Sasquatch” thing, I’m lame. Hmmm, exotic things I’ve eaten…I’m kind of a wuss, I’m sure lots of meat eaters out there would find my various tofu, tvp, and lentil creations a bit off beat, but no one in the blogging community would bat an eye.

Frog legs, they were really yummy!
I also eat raw meat, while i was in Turkey and it had so many spices in it, it was ok to eat raw, thank god I had one to many drinks to know what I was eating when it was handed to me to try.

Yeah totally missed the jerky thing too. I thought it was some flavor of regular (so beef I guess?) jerky.

I can be a fussy eater, so there isn’t anything too crazy I’ve tried. I took a taste of octopus in Portugal but promptly spit it out, and I think in Spain I tried oxtail…not even sure what that IS. I’m much more daring now than I was in my study abroad days so if I ever travel more, maybe I’ll be more adventurous…or maybe not ;-)

I figured Sasquatch was a brand of jerky as well, seeing as I’m not familiar with alot of brands in the States.

The cookies sound like a nice combination of flavours. I’ve seen the Late July products in stores, but never tried them. Perhaps if I have a cookie craving one day, I’ll pick them up :)

My brother sent some of the Late July cookies to me for my birthday last year- I loved them! The most adventurous food I’ve eaten is chicken feet curry while I was visiting a family in Jamaica. I almost gagged when I realized there were tiny little chicken feet in the bowl. The curry was delicious though!

I don’t think I’ve eaten too many adventurous foods. I guess the most adventurous I’ve eaten is sashimi. I had oxtail a few weeks ago. Does that count as adventurous?

I’ve had whole octopus in paella at Spanish and Portugese restuarants, but weirder was probably a chicken heart at a Brazilian Rodijero. It was there so I HAD to try it, but it was too chewy for me to even notice the taste. Definitely not my thing!

I’ve had chicken feet in San Francisco Chinatown. Odd, it tasted fine, but the texture was indeed strange. Chewy and gelatinous at the same time. Rocky Mountain Oysters, (aka bull testicles); pretty good, tasted like liver, sort of. Bone Marrow, YUM. Jelly fish. Meh. I’ll try anything pretty much, except for insects. Just. Can’t. Do. It.

Haha funny I didn’t take notice of the Sasquatch jerky thing either!

When I was in South America, I accidentally ordered the “special” at a small restaurant and ended up with… COW SKIN! It was essentially slices of fat served over rice. Actually it wasn’t quite as bad as it sounds, but I don’t think I’d eat it again.

If your don’t know what they are, :sigh: they’re bull testicles, deep fried and usually dipped in either ranch or ketchup. NASTY! I’m not sure which is worse, those or a chicken heart?

Dear Friends, Happy April Fool’s Day!!

The man told his doctor that he wasn’t able to do all the things around the house that he used to do. When the examination was complete, he said, “Now, Doc, I can take it. Tell me in plain English what is wrong with me.”
“Well, in plain English,” the doctor replied, “you’re just lazy.”
“Okay,” said the man. “Now give me the medical term so I can tell my wife.”

    Happy April Fool’s Day!
