During the week, I don’t necessarily look forward to Cookie Friday– not that I don’t like cookies or Fridays, but because I satisfy my sweet tooth with some sort of small treat everyday. But, when Cookie Friday rolls around, it’s like a celebration for me– for working hard all week in the office and in my choices for living a healthy lifestyle. Cookie Friday is a good thing– a mini celebration with a sweet reward!
You should try it sometime!
I enjoyed my oatmeal raisin cookie with an iced coffee with soy milk and cinnamon mixed in.
Lunch
Lunch was leftover homemade Hawaiian pizza from last night. I chose to eat my slice cold today.
Like last night’s dinner, lunch also included a salad with arugula, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, and Garlicky Pinto Beans.
I ended up transferring the salad to a different Tupperware container when I was packing my lunch, so all of the veggies and beans ended up on the bottom.
Breakfast
I took breakfast on-the-go again this morning. (Btw, I’m loving my early morning workouts at Healthworks!) I had planned to blog at Starbucks after my workout, but I forgot my camera cord, so it was a “no-go.” However, I enjoyed a leisurely morning at Starbucks with a delicious bowl of oats and an iced coffee while checking my email and reading some blogs.
In the mix:
- 1/3 cup oats
- 1/4 cup wheat berries
- 1/4 cup wheat bran
- Pumpkin seeds
- Peanut butter Puffins
- Peanut butter
To make my oatmeal, I asked the nice people at Starbucks for a small cup of hot water, and then just added it to my oats. It worked great!
My breakfast all together: oats, a pear, iced coffee with soy milk, and water.

I still love the cookie Friday idea. I read about 15-20 food blogs regularly but sometimes I read more when i have time
What a delicious looking cookie! And also a fantastic breakfast. I’m seeing wheatberries everywhere so I think I must try them soon. I like that you made your oats at Starbucks – very resourceful!
I read quite a few blogs daily… at least 10. And I love finding new ones (like yours!)
I read a lot of blogs probably around 30-40. I started reading ‘weight loss’ blogs and ended up also reading food/fitness blogs… I also read ‘random’ blogs from people I simply find interesting…
I remembered you had written a few weeks ago about cookies on a Friday and yesterday woke up and my first thought was, “friday = cookie day!”
I read a lot of blogs though am usually too shy to comment (so “hello”- don’t think I have commented here before though I read everyday!)
I love the cookie friday idea! I’m going to have to think about what my friday treat should be…maybe almond butter?? Maybe this would stop me from eating it out of the jar almost everyday! haha
Mmmm, Cookie Friday! I used to have “splurge” Fridays, where i’d let myself have whatever treats I wanted (since I ate so healthily all week long
) I’m thinking of picking it up again even though, like you, I tend to let myself have a small “treat” everyday.
I read about… 5-8 food blogs consistently, haha, i find having too many is hard to keep track of! But that’s what Twitter is for
If I start @ 8 am will the markers be already up?
