Oh, how I have missed you, Barney Butter! Last week, a few of my wonderful readers tipped me off to free samples over on the Barney Butter website. Of course, I immediately headed over to make sure that I got my free samples. I love this stuff so much!! I just know that I am going to breakdown and fork over an arm and leg for another couple of jars. Has anyone heard of new free shipping codes? The shipping costs are what kill ya!
Barney Butter was as delicious as I remembered! In the mix today: oats, wheatberries, vanilla hemp milk, banana, and BB. THIS is my favorite oat combination of all time!
With iced coffee and a multivitamin…
Sunday Dinner
Last night’s dinner was inspired by Mollie Katzen’s recipe for Arugula-Pecan Pesto from her cookbook The Vegetables Dishes I Can’t Live Without. This cookbook has the most wonderful veggie recipes ever! Each one is so incredibly creative, delicious, and easy to make.
The pesto paste is made with arugula, garlic, olive oil, and lemon and is enriched by pecans and softened by the light, sweet presence of golden raisins. The combo of flavors was divine!
I tossed some penne pasta with the pesto paste, which I then topped with Parmesan cheese and more golden raisins and placed on a bed of greens. Yum!
Dinner with a small glass of Rosé…
Mal and I ate dinner in front of the TV while watching Beerfest, which is the most ridiculous movie ever! There were funny parts, but overall, it was just plain weird.
Questions of the Day
I couldn’t decide which question to use for the Question of the Day. Feel free to answer one or the other or both.
What food item/product will you go to great lengths to have in your diet?
What is your favorite cookbook?

Love Barney Butter! Yum!
You now have me hooked on iced coffee. I have had it two days in a row and it’s so tasty.
As for the food I must have it’s peanut/almond butter for sure. We don’t use cookbooks here, hubby says it gets too expensive to make stuff from them LOL And I don’t cook so I guess he wins on this one.
eeeek!! I ordered the free samples too – can’t wait for mine to come!! I FINALLY found a jar when I was recently in San Fran for vacation, only to have it confiscated at the airport without ever tasting a lick…BUST!!!
I love Mollie Katzen! I just featured a chili recipe from the Moosewood Restaurant cookbook on my blog. I’d really like to visit the actual restaurant in Ithaca, NY someday…
Please post if you hear about a free shipping code! I’ve been waiting for one so I can order some! I saw the 3 pack on amazon, but it says crunchy isn’t available?
I got four jars of Barney Butter in the mail today — expensive shipping, but soooo worth it! My 6-year-old has decided she loves it and I was surprised about how much I didn’t want to share it with her.
My favorite cookbooks are various Cooking Light books and Healthy Homestyle Cooking by Evelyn Tribole.
Where are the free samples of BB? I looked on the site but couldn’t find them. I’m in LOVE with BB!
I too am looking for the BB samples. Where did you find them?
I just got my BB samples yesterday…can’t wait to try them:)
Geez, when I go on Amazon for BB it tells me to sign up to be notified when it comes available:(((((
Cookbooks, hmmmm….I love my Saving Dinner Cookbooks by Leanne Ely. It has a weeks worth of dinners with suggested sides as well as grocery lists. I have been introduced to so many different flavors through her books. Rachael Ray is wonderful too. She has introduced me to lots of fresh produce that I would have never tried without seeing them prepared on her show. It’s just like this wonderful blog…I have discovered some many different foods like Almond milk, all the great oat combos…I love them and would have never thought to do them on my own.
I am new to your blog and am really enjoying it! I got a free sample of Barney Butter to try, too. I noticed that you said you took your multivitamin with your iced coffee, and my friend at work said that you are not supposed to take vitamins with your coffee–something about the coffee makes the vitamins not as effective! I just thought you might want to know!
