Breakfast

I had planned to wake up early and “shred” before work, but I didn’t fall asleep until after 11:00 pm last night, and I’m not sure 6 hours of sleep would have been enough for me. I usually need a solid 8 hours to function well. Plus, I’ve been trying to sleep more since I have started reading this book called Thrive. The author, a vegan Ultra Marathoner, stresses the importance of sleep for recovery from exercise as well as the for the reduction of stress. His thinking behind stress, sleep, and nutrition is so interesting. I’m not even halfway through the book yet, but it has already inspired me to be kinder to my body!

Ok, let’s try this again… onto breakfast!

In the mix:

  • 1/3 cup dry oats
  • 1/4 cup wheat berries
  • 1/4 cup wheat bran
  • 2/3 cup vanilla hemp milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 banana 
  • peanut butter Puffins
  • 1 scoop of peanut butter 

Delicious! :mrgreen:

Lunch Preview

I have a feeling that I won’t be able to blog about lunch later today, so I decided to include my packed lunch in this morning’s post. I hope that’s cool with you guys! 😉

Today’s lunch includes a repeat of last night’s dinner: Garlicky Pinto Beans atop a homemade salad with arugula, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and broccoli. 

My sweet treat is banana chips mixed with chocolate chips and a dark chocolate Adora disk

I also have a lovely apple for a snack as well as a Pure Bar

All together…
