Easter Morning Oats

April 12, 2009

Happy Easter, blogland!!!

My oats were extra special this morning because of a really fun addition: MixMyGranola. MyMyGranola is an online service where you can customize your own organic, all natural granola mix from more than fifty ingredients including various dried fruits, nuts, seeds, and even chocolate-covered espresso beans.

My “CNC Muesli Mix” included 100% Organic Muesli, Organic Dates, Dried Blackberries, Hemp Seeds, Organic Flaxseeds, Roasted Almonds, and Chocolate Espresso Beans. The mixes are a little pricey, but they would be perfect as a gift for a special occasion.

My mix inside the container…

The CNC Museli Mix was a yummy addition to my oats this morning! I picked out a few of the chocolate-covered espresso beans from my mix to top my oatmeal.

In the mix:

  • 1/4 cup dry oats
  • 1/3 cup CNC Museli Mix
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 3/4 cup cup vanilla hemp milk
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed meal

With iced coffee…

Mal and I are headed to the gym and then home to visit our families for Easter. Hope you enjoy the day!

I have a bowl of oatmeal every morning. It keeps me fueled and keeps me feeling full. I LOVE the pic of your pug :) They’re my favorite kind of dogs. Yikes!

I’m glad I found your blog :) You gave me something new to follow. I look forward to future posts!

What a cute pug! If you like chocolate covered espresso beans, I really recommend Sweet Riot dark chocolate covered cacao nibs. The nibs come in little tins (perfectly portable) and have about 1-2 calories per piece. Plus, the company is environmentally and socially conscious :-)

Such a cute pug! I know you can’t have one now (and I can’t either :( ), but for anyone else interested there are TWO pugs for adoption at the MSPCA, and they are SO cute. Just an FYI since people don’t always expect to find dogs like pugs in shelters. I love the curly tails!!

Hehe..I do that too–I pick out the “good stuff” from granolas all the time so that by the end, all I am left with is oats!
