Busted!

April 6, 2009

By the end of the work day today, I lost all motivation to go to the gym and seminar about eating local. The weather turned yucky and it started to downpour, and basically, I had no interest in tromping all over campus in the rain. I know, I’m a lazy bum for blowing it off. However, arriving home earlier than expected was well worth it! ;-)

I walked into this scene in my apartment:

Mr. Mal was enjoying a lovely dinner from Wendy’s and I totally busted him! The look on his face was priceless! Before I even said a word about his meal choice, he says, “I didn’t think you’d be home until later!” He then says, “I feel like a bad dog that just pooped on the rug! I honestly don’t care at all what Mal eats. Of course, I’d prefer him to eat healthy more often that not, but everyone is allowed to indulge in their favorite foods every now and then.

Mal’s reaction totally cracked me up and it immediately put me in a better mood. I actually went downstairs to the gym and ran 4 miles on the treadmill. I’m glad that I got my workout in after all!

Dinner

I was on my own for dinner tonight, so made use of some leftovers in the fridge to make a quick and easy Lavash Bread wrap.

Inside my wrap was Arugula-Pecan Pesto paste, a hard-boiled egg, and arugula to give it some volume.

The combo of ingredients was SOOOO delicious! Seriously, I will be making this wrap again in the near future! It was awe-some! :-D

I’m baking something that has the potential of being quite scrumptious! It’s making my apartment smell divine! I’ll tell ya guys about tomorrow– I’m off to veg-out in front of the boob-tube with my hubby

Enjoy the night, blog friends!

I love the pesto pics! I was planning on making cilantro pesto tonight, but I think my ambition has reached its limits for the day. You had a great looking meal – better than Mr. Mal’s. Although, I’ll admit to craving Wendy’s frosties occasionally.

That look is priceless!! I didn’t have to read anything to know what had happened :)

That picture is hilarious! I found out that one time before work my boyfriend left earlier then usual and went to the BK drive through and then ate at his parents house, when his dad ratted him out his face looked just like Mal’s, but like you I don’t care if he indulges once in a while.

I periodically get texts from the BF that say “I feel fat :( ” and then I get the low down on all the “bad” food. But the thing is, I like eating the bad food, too sometimes!!

Ok so I cracked up when I saw that pic! I immediately had to show the boy…once I came home for lunch unnanounced and found him eating pizza. He had the same look on his face! He laughed and said, “dude I know how u feel!” when I showed him this post!

Haha…I love the wendys picture. I’ll admit it…a frosty with fries is a heavenly thing sometimes. ;)

I ended up getting in a run today too, despite it being rainy, cold and wet. I have a hard time motivating myself on days like this, but always feel great afterwards. :D

HAHA – BUSTED!! I had to talk my husband out of getting Burger Kind tonight and getting a fresh deli sandwhich instead. He said he got the sandwhich, but I’m not sure I 100% believe him…. ;)

Hey! I just picked up your blog and wanted to give you a little shout out.
I love this picture because it reminds me of my own better half. I’ve walked in on him a few times with his face in a Wendy’s bag (it’s always on the nights when I am not home of course). Even after I set out something for dinner or explain all of the possibilites there are in the fridge/freezer, somehow he usually opts for the burger and fries. They are too cute to be mad at though.

Thanks for your great posts and have a great week!

Do you order those lavash wraps online, or can you find them in stores? Also, do you think they’re worth ordering online?

Caroline-i can answer that question about the lavash wraps! i live on the east coast as well and find them at stop and shop. i think they are pretty cheap and are worth it-although they do break sometimes-but they are PERFECT for pizzas and are HUGE!

Leanne April 7, 2009 at 6:34 am

@Julie: I actually don’t use the Nike + iPod anymore (mine died a few months ago), but I know you can buy a little “egg” holder that velcros onto any pair of sneakers (onto the shoelaces). You can usually buy them at most sporting stores. Hope this helps!

Reply

Tina April 7, 2009 at 7:19 am

@Caroline: I found mine at Stop & Shop, too. They were in the deli section with the other pitas and wraps.

My dh and I are the most mis-matched couple in the world when it comes to eating. The other day he ate pop tarts, popcorn, and cereal for breakfast/lunch. That’s it.
