How do those chickpea patties stay together? I find that they just fall apart. I’ve tried them twice. Any thoughts?

I am making those chickpea patties tonight, but how much cumin is needed? Its not mentioned in the ingredients, but is in the directions. I checked Real Simple’s website and it didn’t list it? help
