Life in Slow Motion

I’m in slow motion this morning. Wouldn’t it be nice to climb back into bed and sleep the day away? ;-) One can dream, right?

My morning oats were a blend of banana, blueberries, vanilla hemp milk, and ground flaxseed meal, topped with two spoonfuls of peanut butter. (I may need to breakdown and buy more Barney Butter. I miss that wonderful stuff!)

Lunch Preview

For lunch today, I have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat, carrot sticks, cottage cheese mixed with crushed pineapple, and a Lemon Zest Luna Bar. I’m a dork, but I am already looking forward to lunch today!

Support Me in the MS Walk

A family member of mine was recently diagnosed with MS, which is why I registered for Walk MS, a 6 mile walk through Cambridge, MA on Sunday, April 5, 2009. I hope that you will support my fund raising efforts. Any amount, great or small, helps to make a difference in the lives of people with MS. I appreciate your support and look forward to letting you know how I do.

MS stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn’t. Please consider donating to this cause.

Among other things, I packed an almond butter & apple butter sammie today – yay for kiddie lunches!

I’m interested in the MS walk – I know someone who was diagnosed years ago. I’ll look into it!

Randomness in my fridge: a tub of red miso (why do they sell this in such large containers?!), a few Harpoon Winter Warmer beers leftover from New Years because neither John nor I really liked it (gotta get rid of these), about 5 different varieties of yogurts – a staple for me!

We must eat BB at the same rate, because I’m scraping the bottom of my jar :( I need to just get more too – it’s one of life’s greatest pleasures. It’s funny how we can go out to dinner and get a $10 glass of wine without thinking twice, but we ‘fight’ ourselves to spend $8 on a jar of almond butter that we will savor for weeks and love every bite!

Also, your oats look sooo good this morning! I need to get hemp milk again. it’s been since the fall since I’ve had it!

    Currently in my fridge:
    1. Half a jamba juice from last week
    2. 12 avocados (my crazy roomate found a sale)
    3. Three month old chik’n strips.

But I have the solution to your BB problem. Here’s what you do: find a pretty jar and label it “Barney Butter Fund” (decoration optional). Whenever you find extra change in your pocket/bottom of purse/under couch cushions, stick it in there. Pretty soon, it adds up, and you’ll be able to afford it every other week or so!
(I love this trick. I started it because I couldn’t afford FAGE anymore, and I love it so much it was cruel to deprive myself:)
