Grab ‘N’ Go and the Twitterverse

March 25, 2009

I was lazy running late this morning, so I grabbed a bunch of portable foods for lunch today (aka “grab ‘n’ go“). Lunch included two bars, but, considering the 30 seconds it took to throw together, lunch turned out mostly nutritious and satisfying. (I’ve got veggies on the menu for dinner tonight.)

Around 11:30, I started with fresh strawberries. I selected the biggest, ripest ones from the pint this morning. (I hope Mal doesn’t mind! )

The rest of lunch included Chobani with Essential 10 Peace Cereal and a Quaker Simple Harvest bar.

Peace Cereal is a pretty awesome company! (I recently concluded this from their website.) They make all-natural products, utilize responsible business practices, and donate 10% of profits to support community projects. I had never heard of the brand before buying this box of cereal (it was on clearance at the Fruit Center Marketplace), but I will definitely keep a look out for their products in the future. Their cereal is tasty too! :-D

For an afternoon snack, I have a Cranberry Orange Pure Bar. I’ve only tried 2 flavors so far, but I am loving these bars!!!

I have a feeling that many of you would love Pure Bars too, which is why you should check back tomorrow morning for a Pure Bar giveaway!

My brother set it up so that every time I publish a new blog entry, it automatically updates my Twitter status which in turn automatically updates my Facebook status — and I get a good amount of traffic this way!

I never use Twitter on my own though!

I tweet maybe once a day. I’m not reallyinto it and don’t get it really. Maybe it could be used for advertising/marketing in the future.

I love Twitter! That is how I found your blog! I want to try that cereal, I will have to look for it!

I do tweet, but not as much now that I’m more into my blog. I do the same thing as Dori with the entries updating on Twitter, but mostly I use the mobile option now.

I tweet! I like seeing what everyone else is up to throughout the day! Plus it’s put me in touch with some pretty great people — I even had well-known professional trainers contribute content for my blog post today — I set-up all my interviews via twitter ;)

I’ve never really looked into Twitter. But I’m starting to see the draw to it.

I have a twitter account but sometimes find it too much work to constantly update it. I have enough trouble updating my blog!

Can’t wait for the giveaway.
To be honest I don’t know/understand anything about twitter, I must be getting old!

I stil don’t understand twitter and how it benefits me in any way that is different from my blog or facebook.

Your strawberries looked yummy! I had some sliced into my granola this morning and they were delicious!!

i definitely do not twitter and i get really annoyed when my friends connect twitter to facebook…i just don’t see the need to tell people what you are doing and who you are doing it with ALL the time, keep some mystery please.
also, do you keep your Teddie pb in the fridge, it says to but i never do, is that bad?

I don’t twitter, though I set one up for a program at my work. Blogging is so much more fun! Pictures make a huge difference. I feel like Twitter is almost like posting all your Facebook statuses in one place. I haven’t checked many twitters out, but it seems a tad bit more boring than other networking sites/programs.

Tina March 25, 2009 at 1:44 pm

@Audrey: Nope, I keep it in the cabinet.

I twitter (gyrlxoxo) and use it for random updates, leave little comments about blog posts and workout song of the day and other food stuff. I love it.

I don’t use twitter, I think there’s something to retaining a little mystery in life. Have you been thinking about using Twitter?
And I’ve only had the Cherry Cashew Pure Bar so far but I LOVED it!
Interesting article on alcohol and bone density. I’ve also read studies that show that women who have a glass of wine a day tend to be slimmer. All the more reason to engoy a great glass of vino or Beer! : )

I don’t tweet. I engage in all kinds of other social media and it’s a bit redundant with the facebook status.

Leah March 25, 2009 at 4:20 pm

I initially didn’t like Twitter because it seemed very stalker-ish. But once I found out that I could block people from viewing my updates, and only stalk my buddies (who also stalk me) I fell in love with it!

But NOW everyone knows about it and the next thing I know some random person from high school will be requesting to follow my twitter feed! That’s what happened with Facebook, and now I don’t like it. I guess I’ll just have to be more selective with who I allow to follow me :) .

Erin March 25, 2009 at 4:23 pm

Are you serious? I asked this same question yesterday! I didn’t know what it was until people informed me. I definitely don’t.

Nicole (Sweetie Pie) March 25, 2009 at 4:55 pm

I tweet, but not very much. I haven’t become addicted to it in the same way that I was a Facebook addict for awhile. Facebook no longer works properly on my work computer due to some alleged “upgrade” so I’m feeling a bit out of the loop lately. All the more reason to send actual e-mails to check up on friends!

Erin March 25, 2009 at 4:57 pm

No twitter. But I ♥ the word tweet used as a verb for this practice.

Yep, totally love Twitter. I use it mostly for business networking but I have found it’s also been great for me to follow my healthy lifestyle. Tweetdeck.com is a must to keep organized and not waste too much time on Twitter.
