Crazy-Fun Saturday Ahead

It was back to oats for me this morning. Yesterday’s egg sandwich was delicious, filling, and held me over until lunch, but it didn’t have the same mental satisfaction as oats do. I made a few observations about this yesterday morning that I thought I’d share. With oats, I add all sort of toppings for a variety of tastes and textures, which keeps my tastebuds guessing and my brain interested. It also takes me much longer to eat oats compared to a breakfast sandwich. There’s just something about eating with a spoon (as opposed to my hands) that slows me down. Visually, a hearty bowl of oats seems like quite a big portion, while a breakfast sandwich is often much more calorie-dense at a smaller size. And, warm, yummy carbs fill me up and make my brain happy while protein just fills me up. It’s so interesting how foods make you feel

This morning’s oat mix: oats, hemp protein, Peanut Butter Puffins, blueberries, and chunky peanut butter.

I also had a glass of homemade iced coffee with vanilla hemp milk and agave nectar. It’s fun to think how far I’ve come with my food choices. If you had told me a couple of years ago that I’d be drinking hemp milk and agave nectar in my coffee, I would have thought you were crazy! Now these are some of my go-to foods!

Together…

Saturday’s Agenda

  • Breakfast
  • Blog
  • Get ready for the day
  • Bake banana bread
  • Meet mom and sister downtown
  • Walk through the Common and enjoy the weather
  • Lunch downtown (where should we go?)
  • See Dirty Dancing (the musical)
  • Meet friends at Harpoonfest
  • Attend good friend/bridemaid’s 30th birthday party

Now that I made that list, I better get moving! Happy Saturday, blog friends! Hope you have a lovely day!

P.S. Boston might hit the 60′s today!

Dirty Dancing…the musical!? That sounds so much fun!! I hope you enjoy it and have a great day Tina! Seems like you have a lot of fun stuff packed into today! :)

I’m the same way with oats or oat bran. It’s just makes me so much more visually happy to see a big bowl of oats with PB than something else like an English muffin with yogurt or something. Oats and oat bran are definitely my go-to and favorite breakfasts too!

    Happy Saturday!

Definitely agree about eating a “bowl of something” as opposed to a sandwich. Can be soo much more satisfying sometimes!

Have so much fun today!! ;)

I hope you get some warm weather! I’m the same way with eating sandwiches. I end up just cutting them into little pieces and eating with a fork so they last longer. Nowhere near as satisfying as eating with a spoon! :) Enjoy your day Teen!

Just wanted to tell you that after 7 days of continuous yoga practice, I am now in love with it. This came for me during a running injury and has given me a great mental relief to know there are other non-impact things that can make me feel wonderful…it’s a much better workout than I ever realized.

For Yoga challenge day 7, I did 70min of Sadie Nardini’s hardcore Yoga. It was very challenging but I enjoyed it very much!

Today’s yoga-I drank a tad too much Friday night so i did the 20 minute Detox class tonight.

Now that the soreness is gone-i am noticing the weaker spots in my body. My poor core-i didn’t realize how weak it was and how lousy my balance is. I am looking forward to working on these problem areas for the rest of the month.
