Shades of Brown

February 13, 2009

While the weather in Boston is cold and gray today, but my morning has been full of shades of brown. Starting my brown-themed morning was a new flavor of coffee: Hazelnut Creme.

This flavor of coffee smelled de-lic-ious while it was brewing. My apartment still smells like sweet hazelnut! :-D

Some unintentional mixing of colors turned my oats brown this morning. Canned pumpkin + frozen raspberries & blackberries + Barney Butter = shades of brown.

Coffee bean

My attempt at chandelier coffee! ;-)

Brown all around!

Ok, enough about brown foods… let’s talk about red foods!

My favorite red food is strawberries. I eat them in my cereal every day. Love them!

By the way – did you find that coffee to be really strong? I tried that brand once and it was way too strong for me.

Favorite red food is probably apples. I eat them every day!

I’m double dating it for V-day. One of my best friends from college came in town to visit me last month and really hit it off with my bf’s rooommate. She’s coming back to see him this weekend and we’re all going out together!

Hazelnut coffee is so good!

Tomatoes, they’re extremely versatile.

I’m spending Valentine’s babysitting my best friends daughter. It’s the first time she’s ever stayed the night at my house so she’s all excited to “play with the kitties” and I’m going to help her make cupcakes. Or at least, help her make a mess. ;)

Hmmm I think it’s a tie between salsa and strawberries for my favorite red foods.

For V-Day, I think that we are going to stay in or maybe go out for a late dinner. We haven’t decided yet. We were going to go out last night but plans changed.!

My first thought when thinking about the red food was RED HOTS! LOL I haven’t had those in so long and I just remembered that I eat strawberries and apples almost daily, so I guess those are my favorite healthy reds.

I work full time and go to school 4 nights a week, so I’m looking forward to veggin’ on the couch with my hubby and watching a movie. I plan on cooking Chipotle Lime Chicken, cous cous, and Asian veggies. YUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMYYYY
