Return of the Photo Scavenger Hunt

February 24, 2009

I started my morning with 20 minutes of Gentle Hatha Yoga. Ahhhhh… it was very nice. Despite being so relaxing, each time I practice yoga, it reminds me of how incredibly inflexible I am. Downward facing dogs and pigeon poses feel good, but almost hurt because my muscles are so tight. But, I guess you gotta start somewhere, right?

My morning bowl of oats were especially awesome today! Don’t you love that? ;-)

In the mix: 1/3 cup dry oats, 1/4 cup wheat berries, 1 sliced banana, 1/2 of a crumbled breakfast cookie (Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk – Vegan), and 2 scoops of my beloved Barney Butter.

“Delicious!”

(I actually say “delicious” out-loud quite often when I am eating or cooking something that I like a lot… what can I say, I’m a dork sometimes! ;-) )

Lunch Preview

As I was photographing my lunch for today, I realized that it is rather heavy on sugar– some naturally occuring, some not. Apparently, I have a major sweet tooth today?! Cravings are so strange…

On the menu: peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat, cantaloup chunks, Brown Cow yogurt with TJ’s “twig cereal,” and a Luna Sunrise bar. Holy sugar, right? I’ll have to balance lunch with a no-sugar dinner this evening.

Stonyfield Giveaway

The Valentine’s Day Photo Scavenger Hunt was such a hit, I have decided to do another photo scavenger hunt as a Stonyfield Giveaway. Five (5) lucky readers will win a reusable, eco-friendly, leak-proof Stonyfield-branded aluminum water bottle and $25 worth of coupons (some of which are for free Stonyfield products).

Here’s how to enter:

1. Search through past Carrots ‘N’ Cake posts to find three (3) photos of Stonyfield products (any kind, flavor, variety, etc.).

2. Once you find a photo in a specific blog post, copy and paste that link into an email.

3. Send an email to me at tina@carrotsncake.com by the end of the day on Thursday, February 26, 2009, and be sure to include:

  • All 3 links to the posts where each Stonyfield product photo appears
  • Your full name
  • Your mailing address

4. On Friday, I will randomly chose 5 correct entries to win the Stonyfield water bottle and coupons.

Have fun! Let me know if you have any questions.

I feel the same way about yoga making me feel inflexible. In class a few weeks ago the instructor said something like, “we’re all at different points in our practice today, and your other exercise activity effects what your body wants to do today.” I didn’t phrase it right, but it made me feel better when I couldn’t do certain poses.

About how long does your morning bowl of oats keep you full? I’m curious because I have a snack when I wake up, and then head to the gym. I usually have a similar combo of oats after. Do you have a morning snack or wait until lunch time?

This is awesome, Tina! Thank you for another chance to win – I love the interactive phto hunts :)

Reply

Tina February 25, 2009 at 5:07 am

@Jessica: Usually, they keep me full for 4-5 hours. I rarely eat a snack in the morning before lunch.

Anyone else getting their submissions for the scavenger hunt returned as undeliverable?
