Blogger Love in a Package

February 9, 2009

Boy, did I feel the BLOGGER LOVE today!!!

Early this morning, I mailed the Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt care packages to the winners. I’m excited about the goodies that I picked out– I really hope the winners like what’s inside! :-D

When I arrived home from work, I was greeted by not one, but two packages

The first was from my “Secret Cupid:“ Heather from Hangry Pants!!! I was especially excited to receive my secret Valentine’s Day gift from her because I read her blog every day.

Heather totally spoiled me with the goodies she sent: granola planks, fun V-Day socks, chocolate kisses, and a polka-dot bowl.

I’m totally in love with the bowl that she gave me! It reminds me a lot of my polka-dot oatmeal bowl, but much cuter! THANK YOU, HEATHER!!!!! You put the biggest smile on my face today!

FYI: The best part of Heather’s V-Day gift package is at the end of this post! ;-)

Package #2 was awesome as well! Recently, Laura (a reader) and I did a bar exchange with one another. She lives in an area where Larabaras are hard to find, so I sent her a package with all sort of bars, including Larabars. Today, I received her package with Zbars, a breakfast cookie, and a coupon for a Think Bar. THANK YOU, Laura!!! I’m super excited to try the breakfast cookie! I do love cookies for breakfast! :-D

Dinner

While I was at the gym this evening (I did the 45-minute treadmill run), Mal cooked dinner for us. He made Annie’s Mac & Cheese with TJ’s turkey meatballs and steamed spinach.

My plate with a refreshing glass of POM + soda water…

Dessert

As part of my V-Day package, Heather baked Barney Butter/Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Olive Oil Muffins!!! The name is quite a mouth-full, but HOLY YUM! They’re the perfect mix of ingredients– all in one single muffin!

I just ate one of these delicious treats, and I am already considering having another one. Heather is a baking goddess in my book! Thanks, again, Heather!!!!!!!!!!

It’s SO bedtime for me!!! G’ night!

what a great day! those muffins are drool worthy. And I love that treadmill run, must remember to do it again soon!

Lovely looking dinner!

Quick question–I’m looking to change up my cardio, and I think adding some running would be good. But sometimes it’s too cold/inconvenient to run outside. For a treadmill workout, what’s a good speed/interval rate for a novice runner? In my eyes you’re a treadmill guru!

You hit the trifecta: awesome package from one of my favorite people, suhweet bar trade and you didn’t have to cook dinner! My belly is jeal-y!

Reply

Nicole February 10, 2009 at 1:14 am

Awww, fabulous package!!

Reply

Tina February 10, 2009 at 8:26 am

@Mimi: I usually start my run at about 5.5 (incline 1.0) and work up my speed from there. I play with the speeds constantly– like run 2 minutes at X.X speed, then 3 minutes at X.X speed, then sprint at X.X for 1 minute. Try varying your speeds from 5.5 to 6.5 and see how it goes. You can always speed up or slow down depending on how you are feeling. Good luck!
