Watch Out, Hungry Girl Coming Through!

January 28, 2009

Hi, guys! I am just eating dinner now at 8:45, which is WAY too late for my stomach! Its used to eating around 6:00 pm, so when I walked in the door after work and my first class (which was great!), it was a mad dash straight to the kitchen for me!

I munched on carrot sticks and TJ’s crackers while my veggie burger cooked in the Griddler. Here’s a shot of my plate, mid-dinner…

Mr. Mal just poured me a glass of red wine, so I guess that’s my dessert for the evening! ;-)

Lunch

Lunch was a special treat today! I met my friend, Becca, who also works in Harvard Square, for lunch at Wagamama’s. It was so nice getting out of the office and enjoying lunch with a girlfriend!

Not realizing, I ordered the exact same meal that I ordered the last time I visited Wagamama’s: Grilled Yasai Salad, which was marinated and grilled eggplant, portabella mushroom and squash, combined with caramelized red onion, roasted sweet potato, asparagus, diced tomato and served with mixed leaves, served with whole wheat noodles and garnished with pickled red ginger and sesame seeds. I guess it sounded good on the menu both times!

Again, it was delicious– all of my favorite grilled veggies in one meal! :-D

Of course, after finishing lunch, I was craving something sweet, specifically chocolate! On the walk back to my office, I popped into Starbucks for a… ready?… decaf, tall, soy, mocha, misto. (Translation: half decaf coffee, half soy milk with mocha syrup). What can I say? I’m high maintenance! ;-)

(The water drops on top of my cup is from the rain/snow mix that we had all afternoon in Boston. The weather was icky today!)

My afternoon snack was a vanilla Chobani mixed with a sample of Bear Naked fruit and nut granola, which was amazing! I might buy this brand of granola the next time I am at the grocery store. Loved it!

And the Winners are…

Thanks to all of you who entered the Say Yes Giveaway today! I loved, loved, loved reading all of the things that you are going to say YES to in 2009! Most of your YESes were motivational and inspiring, but some were just plain funny! Thanks for making me smile today, guys! :)

To determine the winners, I used the Random Integer Generator. So, without further ado, the two winning random integers are:

I’ve gotta try Wagamama’s… for some reason, I must have overlooked it during trips to Harvard Square.

I’m trying my first Chobani yogurt tonight!! The peach flavor, I hope it’s good. I was too curious after all the blog talk about Chobani.

Bare Naked is good but look at the nutrition facts before you decide to buy. The calories are off the charts.

Your lunch looks yummy! Congrats to the winners!

I tried your veggie burger quesadilla for dinner tonight! It was great! I wasn’t really a fan of the Boca brushetta burgers I have, but I’d loved it “Tina style.” Have a great night!

That salad you had for lunch looks absolutely fabulous. I had never thought to make something like that and add noodles to the mix. What a great way to get a healthy carby item in. I wonder how it would taste with buckwheat noodles… I’ll have to figure that one out and post about it.

Oh man… I’m working on my MBA in night school, and sometimes our professor keeps us past the 9PM class end time! I usually have a Larabar during class, but by the time I get home I’m a ravenous monster!
