TGIF! Boy, do I really, really mean it this week!
I like my new job and all, but it’s usually fast-paced, which makes for a rather intense (and often stressful) day. My old job was nothing like that! I’m really not complaining– I wanted a job like this. My mind and body just need to get used to the new expectations. The fast-pace, however, does make the day fly by!
Anyway, I am very happy that the weekend is just about here, so I can fully relax! I’ve already decided that I have a hot date tonight with my PJ, a glass of wine, and episodes of How I Met Your Mother!
This mornings oatmeal: banana-coconut-walnut! In the mix: oats, banana, walnuts, oat milk, and ground flaxseed meal, all topped with shredded coconut and two scoops of Barney Butter. De-lish!
Check out Bruce in the background! He’s enjoying his new home!
Question of the Day
If you could, would you relive your college days?
(If you’re in college, what do you like best about college life?)

Oh definitely! Even though it felt like living in a bubble, but it was such a great atmosphere (living on campus) to hang out with friends *almost* 24/7, staying up till the wee hours (which i can’t anymore) dying my friend’s hair (don’t ask), baking banana bread (!) or just giving each other moral support during the final time. I miss college life…
Ugh, what do I like best about college life? Knowing I’ll be out of here in a little over a year… I’m much more of a work oriented person. I’d rather be busy all day than sit around between classes doing work.
TGIF, indeed!!
In in college now, and love my classes and friends… but I’m ready to be DONE already!!
**I’M in
I like how I am so close to my friends-right across the hall! It’s very very special!!
I think I would go back to college in a second! I do go back to my school for recruiting a few times per year and I miss it so much when I am there! But, when I leave and realize I have no homework that is pretty great too. The grass is always greener.
Friday couldn’t have come sooner!!
My favorite part of college is the feeling of independence…even though I’m not REALLY an adult yet =)
I’ve been having strange urges to dye my hair streaks of pink or blue….so YES I would relive my college days if I could! I loved staying up late, mid-day nights while studying, dying my friends hairs, going to work out at like 10pm and then staying up until 2 or 3am studying – fun times!!!
I would relive it only if I could do it all differently…
I totally agree with your title! I’m ready to sleep in!
TGIF for sure! I absolutely LOVED my college time – best friends around all the time, fun events to go to, new classes to learn from – but I wouldn’t go back. I like moving forward in life!
Goodness no! Now I loved college and had a fabbo time. But I love being an adult and on my own more. This is way better than college!
TGIF!!
Oh my god I would relive my college days in a Second!!!! I had the most amazing time and I seriously miss it everyday…and it only makes it worse when I read about other bloggers who are still in college. I’d even deal with the school work again to have that experience all over. I don’t miss homework and I am very happy with my life now but those were seriously the BEST times of my life
@Shelby: Right on, sista!
oh i miss irresponsibility. i miss the choice to go to class. i miss staying up until four am and taking a three hours long nap during the day. i miss the idea that a long day was three hours of class.
i do not miss drinking a majority of the nights. the unhealthy food.
LOL – love Bruce and his other pug buddy on the fridge!
If I could relive my college days – I ABSOLUTELY WOULD (mabye minus the enormous weight gain!) – I LOVED every second of college! And “being a grown up” sometimes stinks (although does have its advantages at times as well!
Glad to hear you are liking the new job, and challenged by the fast pace! I thrive in a job environment like that – and it feels like in a blink of an eye – its Friday!
I keep seeing Barney Butter everywhere. I think I need to try it.
And yes, I’d relive my college years, but I’d dump the lame boyfriend I kept for too long and live part of it like a carefree single girl!
im sooo glad that is Friday too, the weekend is def. much needed
I have to say that i just graduated in December and I already miss college a lot. Its hard being out in the real world! I would definitely go back if I could…and I just might to work on my masters
Hmmmm–great question! I like knowing that whatever I do in college is completely my choice. Not that we don’t have our own choices in the real world, but I do feel like I have a lot of freedom, and I’m still caught b/w having the responsibilities of someone younger than me..but maybe having more fun like someone older:P Your oat combo is a MUST try!!!
Relive, absolutely NOT. Go back and do some things differently, yes, definitely. Although, that said, I am extremely happy with my life now and who knows how things would change if I did things differently then.
YESSS!!!! I graduated last May and the thought of doing it all over probably crosses my mind every day.
TGIF, indeed. I’ve had a pretty long week, too! Looking forward to watching a movie in my PJs with my boyfriend tonight!
I liked college, (especially living in the dorms the first 2 years) but I don’t think I’d want to go back. Not knowing what I know and who I am now, at least!!
i would give my right arm to relive college! it was awesome.
I would relive college in a heartbeat! Soooo much fun
Happy Friday!!!
I was wondering, where do you get those adora disks?
I would definitely relive the college days…as long as I could just go to classes and not have to write papers and reports. I miss hanging out with friends at coffee houses.
I totally wish I could relive college, if for no other reason than to have more fun! I was such a stick in the mud…
TGIF!!
I would love to relive my college days. I miss being able to see my friends daily, and the simplicity of college life.
Tina, the artical is up:) Thanks again sweetie! I hope that we can meet when I am in Boston in April!!! http://nhershoes.blogspot.com/2009/01/her-january-featured-foodie-fridge.html
oh and in answer to your question, I WOULD DO LIVE them again, I loved my college years!
absolutely 100% without a doubt would relive my college days. mid-twenties have not been kind to me!
LOVE HIMYM!
That’s a tough question! I would love to relive my college days, but would I start again at 18 or now at 24? I had so much fun in college, but there was a lot of drama that I feel has some what evaporated. But boy do I miss staying out until sunrise and sleeping in until my first class at 1:00 then eating what ever the hell I wanted. However, I don’t miss the nasty hang overs and 20 pounds I gained…lol
TGIF!!! If I could, I would go back and major in Nutrition/Dietetics instead of wondering aimlessly thorough school. BTW – I loved your article on NHerShoes. Hope today flies by!
100 % YES!!!! I miss college very much. I met my fiance and got the best group of friends you could ask for. I have so many great memories and pictures
Gosh I want to stay in college forever!!! I’m in my 5th year, finishing up next year! I love not having to get up everyday and doing the same work routine! I love the memories of going out with my girlfriends, staying up all night, sleeping in all day, laying out in the sun………. and the list goes on! I’m thinking about becoming a professional student! EEK- the Real World scares me!
I’m in college right now and at the moment my favorite part is my exercise physiology classes! They’re all so interesting!
i love college and know i will be sad in 2010 when i graduate (miss my friends and living off my parents money still ) but i am ready to get out there
I would totally relive my college days. Though I’d relive them with the salary I make now
That would be quite fun! I don’t miss the stress of studying and worrying about grades; I simply miss being close to the people I care about.
Now that you’ve been at the job a while, what do you like best about it and your new schedule?
I love that you use 2 scoops of Barney Butter.
I didn’t really enjoy college that much. High-school was my favorite. I wouldn’t necessarily want to relive those years, but I’d love to go back and visit for a day.
However, I did study abroad my junior year of collge, and living in England was one of the best times of my life. I learned so much from all my travels. I would do that all over again in a heart beat!
Love the oats with the pugs in the background
Relive college days? Yes to some stuff, but no to some stuff!
Yes because:
- I met my husband there
- I loved being out of a class at 1 or 2 and being able to take a nap in the afternoon if I wanted
- I made some really good friends -2 of which are now 2 of my best friends
No, because:
- I had some really crappy experiences in college
- I don’t miss the homework!
Are you kidding? College (at NYU) was fantastic. But it’s done and there’s no need to rehash a former phase in life. I’m an adult now and enjoy that.
Absolutely! Only if I can go with all the life lessons I’ve learned since then. I’d do a few things differently, but a lot would be the same. I did love college!
I don’t think I’d relive my college days. I loved them and have great memories but I’m content to let them stay in the past. I like where I’m at right now. I am super excited for my 5 year (eep) reunion this spring though. Living in the dorms again will be fun even if it’s only for 3 days!
HIMYM is one of the best shows on TV. It’s hilarious!
Nooo, I would not relive undergrad for anything. I mean actually, I love learning, but I was not a happy camper during those years. Plus, I went to college in freezing upstate New York and now I live in Cali, so that might have something to do with it!
I’m with Heather though, I’d relive my study-abroad semester in a heartbeat. I went to Seville, Spain and it was the most incredible experience.
Sometimes I think it would be nice to go back to the days of college – very little responsibility, for sure! Then I think about it and how much I love my life now, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything…
Haha the pugs crack me up! How I Met Your Mother is fabulous unwind TV
I’m in college and what I love is that I’m at the stage where I’m an adult and can make my own choices BUT I’m not tied down to a full time job yet – all of you working women are an inspiration though!
what i know now, i would have majored in something different and spent a LOT more time with my friends….the lack of responsibility was wonderful…especially Friday afternoons (and my bed in college was SO comfortable)
I need to catch up on HIMYM too! Sounds like a nice relaxing night!
I would go back to college because I am really not liking my job right now. I miss those days of staying out till 3 am and not having class till the afternoon!
You’re oats look so good. I’m going to have to try out that banana/coconut combo. I love when my days are fast-pasted and before you know it, it’s 5pm!
I would totally relive my college days. Those four years were so much fun! Plus, I didn’t have a care in the world and wasn’t required to be a “responsible adult.”
I would relive my college days – all of my friends were within walking distance from me, I didn’t have to worry about rent, food, or utilities, and there was always something to do!
The part I wouldn’t relive would be the lack of privacy and the “unhealthy lifestyle” that I’m still trying to work off years later! But it was definitely worth it.
