So Delicious Dairy Free Yogurt

January 21, 2009

NEW product alert!

I’ve been on such a Greek yogurt kick lately that I never in a million years expected this dairy-free (soy) yogurt to be so incredibly delicious! I was obviously pleasantly surprised! These yogurts were on sale 2 for $1 at Hannafords (about a week ago), and for that price, I needed to try them! I was sold after the very first spoonful!

Vanilla

Best.vanilla.yogurt.ever!! Seriously, I love this yogurt! At first, I was a little bugged-out by its color. Usually, vanilla yogurt is white or off-white, but this one was light brown. Initially, I thought this was strange, but when I thought about natural vanilla, the color is actually brown, so maybe yogurt isn’t supposed to be so white? The flavor of the yogurt, however, totally made up for the color inconsistencies! It was light and very natural tasting. I would easily eat this flavor for dessert!

Blueberry

Again, the color of the blueberry yogurt was much darker than the normal blue or light purple shade of regular blueberry yogurt. Not that the color was a good or bad thing– just something to note. The blueberry flavor was nice and strong. It sort of reminded of stealing a lick of blueberry muffin batter right from the bowl!

Cinnamon Roll

After trying both the Vanilla and Cinnamon Roll flavors, I can’t decide which I like more. Both were awesome, but in their own way. Like the Vanilla, the Cinnamon Roll was also thick and creamy, but had a sweet and sort of tart flavor (instead of just sweet vanilla). The flavor was like a freshly baked cinnamon bun– almost like a super moist cinnamon roll with lots of frosting on it. It really was dessert in yogurt form! So good!

thanks for posting! i need to try soy yogurts again. I didnt realize its a good source of vitamin b12! I’m vegan so it would make sense for me to try to include a few of these per week in my diet.

Hmm, thanks for the info. I’ve baked with soy yogurt before, but never just eaten it by itself.

I love the cinnamon roll! You should try their ice creams – really yummy, sweetened with fruit.

Yes! THey’re so yummy! They also have a diary free, soy free yogurt made with coconut milk! I tried a mango one, and it tasted like something you’d drink with a little umbrella sticking out of it. Yum yum yum.

If you like So Delicious yogurt, you’ve got to try their “ice cream”!

Now that I know about my allergies to milk, I really want to try these. Some soy yogurts still have some dairy in them, but these sound safe for me! Thanks, I will have to try to find some!

I’m so glad you like these yogurts, I love them! I was impressed with their consistency (thick) and they are good as far as calorie count. It really is the best vanilla yogurt ever! But I think my favorite flavor is cherry vanilla :)

I tried the cinnamon roll flavor and I absolutely loved it! It is almost like a flan type consistency, but not as gel-like.

CINNAMON ROLL SOUNDS DELICIOUS!!!!! it has 24 g of sugar though or something around there?? What’s your opinion on that, too high? Just fine every few days?? Thanks!!!

Reply

Tina January 22, 2009 at 9:08 pm

@Jessica: I believe it is naturally occurring sugar. I’d have to check the ingredients to see where it’s coming from. It’s quite delicious though! :)
