Clementines Go Artsy
I really, really, really want my camera back from the Geek Squad! I received another update this morning that my camera is being “Repaired.” Gaaah!! Hurry up, Geeks!! But, not having my camera has made me think outside of the box when photographing and displaying my food pics on the blog. This clementine collage looks pretty cool to me!

I ate a clementine and an Adora disk as a mid-morning snack today. When taken together, vitamin C helps with the absorption of calcium. Pretty neat, huh?
(Ugh, these yucky photos are killing me!)
The rest of lunch was a homemade salad with extra carrot sticks for dipping into sun-dried tomato hummus. I also had some leftover sweet potato fries, which I warmed-up in the microwave.
I followed-up all of those veggies with a Lemon Zest Luna Bar, which tasted like a crunchy lemon square! Yum!
Speaking of lemons, here’s a nice article about adding lemons into your winter diet. It has lots of lemony info and recipes: A Zest for Lemons.

Starting with a low-sodium soup can help you feel fuller on fewer calories, and consuming low-fat protein can help control hunger better than carbs and fat. Mixing the fresh with the frozen is another idea featured in this article.

Classic line = “Hurry up, Geeks!!” Hahaha!
Have a good day, girl!

Lately to cut some calories, I have been only having coffee on days I don’t go to the gym (coffee usually includes FF creamer and sugar too). That would be two days instead of 5 so that is a good change for me except today we got up at 4:30 AM and were at the gym by 6 AM so I was dragging this afternoon and had to have a cup ha ha.
Clementines are costly around here so I didn’t buy them but your collage is cute and looks yummy.

To cut calories I take sweets out of the house! If they are there, I will eat them, especially after dinner if I’m bored. Also, I cut my cheese intake way down because it can get out of hand

I start every dinner with a HUGE romaine salad. Volume eating has really helped me maintain my weight.
I also have several cups of hot tea a day. I find hot tea helps me feel full.

I eat well and eat often. If I get either side of that equation off, my plan backfires;P
Have you tried the cookies n’ cream luna? YUM

That’s really cool about the calcium and oranges!
My doctor recently urged me to begin taking calcium supplements (due to my recovery from an ED). I know that you use Adora, would you recommend this? How do you choose a calcium supplement? Thanks!
on Jan 8th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
@Jenny: Adora disks are wonderful! And delicious! I usually eat one after breakfast in the morning, although you can eat up to 2 a day.
on Jan 8th, 2009 at 5:02 pm

I love sweet potato fries! Hopefully the Geek Squad hurries up!

Great tip about the soup. I’m big on bringing a little ziploc full of cut-up raw veggies with me to work. Then, when I get hungry or munchy, I snack away!

Cool!!!
on Jan 8th, 2009 at 9:03 pm

I try to minimize liquid calories so I usually drink regular coffee, instead of lates and wine instead of fancy cocktails.
Someone also mentioned tea, and I really like that as well. I drink tea plain, so that’s zero calories that fill my stomach and it’s warm which is especially nice this season
Thanks for that email on the tea tasting!
