Soup for Me
Mr. Mal had his own plans for food tonight (take-out from the sub shoppe), so I was on my own for dinner. I was hungry, but not at all in the mood to make anything elaborate for dinner. I can be so lazy when it comes to preparing meals, especially when I am tired, so I kept dinner nice and simple: half of a ham and sweet onion jam sandwich on whole wheat, carrot sticks, TJ’s peanut butter-filled pretzels…
…and the BEST butternut squash soup! The Pacific Natural Food’s Organic Creamy Butternut Squash soup was delicious and satisfying with a slightly nutty taste and hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. The ginger flavor was actually quite strong, but very enjoyable… if you like ginger, of course.
Mal suggested that I make a “Soup Nazi” reference in tonight’s blog, so here goes: “No soup for you!”
After dinner, I had a small scoop of Stonyfield vanilla yogurt with ginger granola and a scoop of Barney Butter. I am so full now!

great dinner for one! soup never fails to satisfy our belly!
Tina: what heart monitor do you use for your workout stats? I’m considering to get one.
on Nov 14th, 2008 at 11:06 am
Coco,
I use the Nike + iPod gadget to track my runs– including time, distance, pace, and estimated calories. It’s not a true heart rate monitor, but it’s still pretty awesome. You can set distance/time goals and training programs for yourself, and it “talks” to you through the iPod. You can find out more here about it: http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike/ I love it!!!

Too bad I missed the Oikos giveaway.. yesterday was crazy busy. Anywayzzzz, what’s the ginger granola like? What brand is it? I like the sound of it
on Nov 14th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
Elina,
The ginger granola is so yummy! It’s a sweet ginger flavor, almost like sweet ginger tea. I believe it’s Hanniford’s brand– it’s from their bulk bins.
on Nov 14th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
Yum, soup and sandwich is my favorite dinner! I’m easily pleased I suppose
I love your blog and I hope you don’t mind that I added you to my blogroll.
