I Lost Track

Three words for you guys: Too much wine. I completely lost track of how many glasses of wine I drank last night, and now I am hungover. :( I’m such a light-weight, and I didn’t eat much dinner last night. Ugh. I guess it happens sometimes, and I shouldn’t feel too bad about it, but boy, am I paying for it this morning! Yuck. Anyway…

Check out my new haircut! It actually has some “style” to it now! (This is also a shot of my first glass of wine, a Clos du Bois Pinot Noir. Josh came over for a few drinks before we all went out last night.)

The “special occasion” (that I baked Oatmeal Raisin Bars for) was a surprise birthday party for our friend, Dave. It was held at one of my favorite local bar/restaurants, The Fours

The cake that his fiance, Marie, purchased for the party was so fun! It was a football-themed cake to which she added beer can candles! :)

Success!!!!! The birthday boy was surprised! He said he was a little suspicious when he and Marie “went out to pick up something” and ended up in the parking lot of The Fours, but he was happy to see his friends when he arrived.

My drink of choice for the evening was a Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay. Here is glass numero uno…

Marie purchased a some appetizers for the party-goers to share. I dug right into the Buffalo Chicken Nachos, but I only ate about 6-7 chips, which provided quite a few calories, but not nearly enough substance to deal with the multiple glasses of wine.

Mal and I also split a “loaded” potato skin.

Chardonnay numero dos…

I was pretty buzzed-up by the time the birthday boy blew out his candles, which lead to…

…a big ol’ piece of birthday cake (chocolate with thick vanilla frosting). It was delicious, but the last thing I needed was all of that sugar! Oh well, maybe it helped my stomach “sop-up” some of the wine!

Mal and his “boyfriends,” Dave and Josh. They’re a handsome bunch!

More wine… ugh. Once I get a few in me and start chatting away with friends, I totally lose track of how much I have had to drink.

Here I am with Marie, the woman who planned the surprise party. Thanks for such a fun time, Marie! :D

After Dave’s birthday party at The Fours, Mal and I arrived home to a big package. Inside: Chobani!!! I was super excited when I discovered what was inside (especially after a few gasses of wine)! I can’t wait to try all of the flavors!

Some drunk girl made a huge mess opening the Chobani. What an aftermath of a night full of wine!

Mal and I are hosting a brunch at our apartment this morning, so it’s time to boogie and get things ready! See ya later, gators!

I LOVE your haircut! Could you recommend a good place for a college student (read: not expensive) to go? I desperately need a haircut, and I’m not going home until Christmas, so it looks like I’m doin it here! I just want a basic cut.. nothing fancy, no color. The only places I know of that I’d *trust* are on Newbury.. and Newbury = too mcuh $$

    Hi Tina,
Thanks for posting the ‘do’ photos – your hair looks great! Did you get any recs for a reasonably priced blow dryer from your stylist? I’m looking as well. CanNOT afford $150 tho!

I love that cake! And your hair looks so great. I know what you mean about needing a little “style”… I am so sick of my hair!

Enjoy your brunch! Have a banana… they magically get rid of hangovers. Don’t ask me why.

For me last night, beer led to chocolate rice pudding. SO RANDOM! There’s a rice pudding place called Rice to Riches in NYC and the bf and I walked by it on our way to the subway. We both thought it would be a great idea to get some right then and there. It was my first time having rice pudding too. Weird night. :-P

Hi!!! So I know you said you and Mal are coming to NYC soon! I am so excited for you guys and wanted to make a recommendation. Yesterday I got engaged while running in Central Park and we celebrated by staying at the Palace Hotel and going to dinner at Gilt and it was AMAZING! But, even for drinks the bar is fabulous. I highly recommend getting drinks there! I hope to see you soon and have a great day! I’m feeling the same wine hangover you are. :)
