Greetings from the Bolt Bus!

This is so cool! I’m blogging from the bus (and using Ecto– more about that later)!

Ma and I had about an hour to kill before our bus departed, so instead of grabbing sandwiches to go, we ate dinner at a restaurant in South Station, called Clarke’s. Its location was great. The food, however, was average… maybe even a bit below average. On the positive side though, dining in New York City can only get better! I have high hopes for some of the restaurants on our list! :)

The selection on the Clarke’s menu was rather limited. I’m usually pretty easy to please when it comes to food and eating out, but I had a very tough time deciding what to order. I settled on the Garden Salad with chicken and honey mustard on the side.

The honey mustard was tasty– it actually reminded me of the honey mustard from Friendly’s that I used to love as a kid. Unfortunately, the nutritionals are most likely less than stellar.

I was hungry, so ate almost the entire salad, except for a few scraps of lettuce and a couple pieces of chicken, but I think we should have gone to Cosi or Au Bon Pain instead. Oh well.

For the road, I got a molasses cookie from Rosie’s Bakery. I can’t wait to dig in!

Bolt Bus blogger… it’s a weird angle, but you guys get the idea! :)

We are scheduled to arrive in NYC around 9/9:30 PM. Tonight, we are staying with my college friend, Matt, so he’s going to take us out for a couple of drinks once we get settled at his place. So, New Yorkers, our options are: Wine & Roses or Vol de Nuit. Where should we go for our first night in the city?

Ok, I’m totally bus sick now (motion sickness)– gotta go!

I’m sure you’ve already chosen, but I secretly hope you choose vol de nuit. I agree with Danielle above that “downtown is the place to be on a weekend night!” Hope you’re having an amazing time!

I wonder if I could blog by bus? I can’t read in a car or bus or I get really ill with an instant headache.

Sorry about your salad! Everything else NYC will make up for it! :D
