Newport Bound
Wahoo! My work week is just about over! I’m leaving a little early today to head down to Newport, RI for the weekend. Mal’s family has a timeshare there in early October each year, and it is my most favorite weekend of the year!!! Seriously, I look forward to this trip all year long! Our time in Newport is always so wonderful– it’s fun, but relaxing, and, of course, Newport is a georgous place to spend any type of vacation. I’m planning to bring Mal’s computer along on our trip, so I should be able to blog (my first ever blogging vaca!)
Breakfast this morning was a hearty bowl of oats with apples, walnuts, dates, and vanilla hemp milk.
Check out this bowl of oats– chunky, colorful, and creamy!
I also took a homemade iced coffee to go. (Yay! Fun autumn decorations!
)
Oh boy, today’s lunch was less than stellar. I didn’t make my lunch last night, so this morning was a mad scramble for any sort of lunch food items. I came up with a peanut butter and apple butter sandwich on 2 end pieces of bread. (Mal refuses to eat them.) Pretty lunch, eh?
Here’s my peanut butter and apple butter on not-the-freshest whole wheat bread… let’s just say, I’ve had better!
Lunch also included a homemade salad with tomatoes, carrots, and red onions as well as vanilla Chobani with fiber sticks. I am FULL now!
I have a feeling lunch is going to do a great job holding me over until dinner tonight. See you Newport! Happy weekend!

LOVE Newport! I was there last weekend for a wedding…at least you’ll have way better weather than I did. I would of loved to do more outside activities (cliff walk!) but it was pouring.
Have a great time!!

Have a great time in Newport! Totally jealous about the vacay, we so need one as well! We did watch the debate and I was surprised Palin kept it together however she didn’t really answer any questions!

I’ve been hearing about your blog, on other blogs, but I finally got a chance to stop by – I’ll be coming back! Your food looks yummy and your story is inspiring. (were you in shape/self ever? it sounded familiar for some reason)

Allison,
Yep, you can buy it at a grocery store. It’s usually found with the peanut butter/jelly.
