Yellow Taxi Story

When Mal and I got off the Bolt Bus in NYC, we had quite a bit of trouble getting a taxi to my friend’s apartment and it was freezing cold outside. When I am really cold, I sort of panic. I know, it’s weird, but I can’t stand being cold for long periods of time. Obviously, it makes me cranky! Finally, after about 15 minutes of zero success, a black car stopped to offer us a ride. I had a feeling it wasn’t a “legit” taxi, but I didn’t care– I was frozen to the bone! Long story short, a ride that should have cost about $10 was $25! Oops! Mal (playfully) made fun of me all weekend long about this little mishap (since it was totally my fault), so we purchased a yellow taxi ornament at the Holiday Market at Union Square to commemorate it. I definitely learned my lesson about black cars in NYC!
